Who recognises this famous scene?

Cars with a story behind them make a drawing special.

I still need to refine the concept for this drawing. It’s tricky, because two cars need to be depicted. And what to do with the colours?
I work from digital to analogue with my marker drawings. First, I look for photographic material and background information. Then I draw it digitally. Once I have done that, the concept is complete. All I have to do then is draw it in a very large format on paper (140x90cm), which is quite a challenge.

In the old days, the Dutch police used to drive these open Porsche 911 Targas on the motorways. How cool was that!

This No. 86 was an existing service vehicle with matching number plate.

Large-format marker drawing. Drawing on a large format is more fun to do and it gives the impression that this Porsche is driving into the room! If you would like one, please let me know.

A blood-red 1958 Plymouth Fury, not just any car, this is Christine. The possessed horror car. When Arnie finds this old car and refurbishes it, not only does the demon in Christine come to life, but his personality also changes...
This famous car, in large format (100x100cm), almost literally drives into the room. I try to draw pictures like this as simply and recognisably as possible. Thick black lines and only one (or two) spot colour(s). In this case, a lot of blood red!
The simpler the drawing, the better. That’s what I’m working on. I develop that further with every drawing.
