Never Mind The Hype over Soulcrusher 2026

Een van de leukste heavy feestjes van het jaar is toch wel Soulcrusher. Het festival in Doornroosje, Nijmegen programmeert voor de negende keer op twee dagen alles wat hard is.

The Soulcrusher 2026 merch has arrived and it looks killer! In our humble opinion at least... The 2026 design is inspired by the legend of Gandaberunda, complete with gold details. Longsleeves, shirts, sweaters and totes with this design are available during both festivals days at the merch booth upstairs.

GAEREA
Hailing from Portugal, Gaerea is known for their intense, atmospheric sound that blends black metal, post metal, and industrial elements into a cohesive and immersive experience. Their music is characterized by dissonant riffs, hypnotic dynamics, and deeply emotional vocals, creating a sense of tension and transcendence that recalls both inner turmoil and spiritual catharsis.

On stage, Gaerea presents a striking visual identity—full-face masks, minimal lighting, and a tightly choreographed performance—which heightens the emotional impact of their songs. Their releases have earned critical acclaim across the European underground scene, positioning them as one of the most compelling and forward looking acts in contemporary extreme metal. Gaerea is not just a band, but an experience: raw, immersive, and impossible to ignore.

WRONG MAN
With a sound that reflects an eclectic range of influences, WRONG MAN continue to forge their own path with every record they release, and every song they write. Their unique brand of soulful post hardcore is equal parts noisy and melodic, at times bluesy and moody. Having played in previous bands like Oathbreaker, Partisan & Rise And Fall, Wrong Man formed to do something different than previous projects. Following their rocking, very ‘90s inspired debut EP, Who Are You?, the Belgian band expanded their sound on follow up EP Big Plans, offering more sonic pushes and pulls, and an ability to play with contrasts, to create a very dynamic record. Their newly released debut full-length, Here’s That Feeling, is their strongest and most diverse work to date.

ULTHA
Cologne-based ULTHA have spent over a decade carving a singular place in black metal: abyssal, atmospheric, and fiercely introspective. Formed in 2014, the five-piece fuse black metal, doom, post-punk, shoegaze and cinematic scale into music that confronts loss, doubt and the struggle to endure. Their latest full-length, A Light So Dim, is a 74-minute concept album about hope emerging from darkness, enriched by guest musicians and a 40-strong Cologne choir. ULTHA prove once again that extremity doesn’t have to be fast to be devastating; sometimes the heaviest impact comes from mood, tension, and sheer emotional weight.
