On May 29, two long-running old-school punk bands come together in Nijmegen for a rare live show at De Onderbroek.

Brigandage started in the early ’80s, inspired by the original 1976 punk scene. Within months they were on the cover of NME, recording a Peel Session, and playing shows with bands like S*x Gang Children. After years underground, the band returned for Rebellion Festival 2024 and are now back touring Europe with a new album, Half Moon Rising.

Joining them are Rubber Gun — formed over 40 years ago in Zutphen’s punk/squat scene, known for their cult following in Germany and their album Grease Up!. After decades apart, they’re back on stage again alongside old friends Brigandage.

Expect a night of raw punk, post-punk and underground classics.

Starting today at the Klinker you can order the delicious El Puente Mate, a refreshing iced tea like caffeinated mate drink.

El Puente Mate will be replacing our long held staple Club Mate, because it aligns more with out values of organic/biological food production, agro-ecology, worker controll/self management, and the support of social/mutual aid projects. So this is a project we as the Klinker collective want to support.

The mate is organic and originated from the Brazilian landless farmers' movement MST, with fair trade organic sugar from Paraguay.

The MST was formed in the mid-80's and has grown into a mass movement with around 1.5 million members. The core of the political movement MST are newly created settlements of land occupiers, the so-called "Assentamentos". The inhabitants cultivate the land they occupy together. More than 100 agricultural cooperatives have been established throughout the country to produce different products. A large part of the production is used for personal purposes, which has made the settlements to a great extent independent from rising food prices. In many places the MST has now been able to set up professional processing plants, of which COPERMATE is an example.

COPERMATE is a democratic processing plant and export cooperative of matte tea in the state of Paraná, Brazil. It is the joint property of about 200 members of the landless farmers' movement Movimento Sem Terra (MST), and they also work with about 600 small producers in the region. In addition to the production of mate-tea, Copermate is actively involved in social projects in the region. This is how money was put into community centers, child care, schools and technical education in agro-ecology. In addition, the proceeds will be used to support the political goals of the MST.
