on February 15th, 2017 with his weblog called 'Jan Tervoort Art Gallery' to show regularly inspiring artwork from him on social media. More about the artist
Jan Tervoort was born on April 27, 1955 in Castricum, the Netherlands. Tervoort is an experimental painter whose work, notable for its beauty, emotion and color, influenced many other artists. During the years he mastered himself in learning all kind of painting techniques. From 1995 - 1997 he followed masterclasses at the artist Lois Kapr. He developed his own style through an unique technique; he called it 'Floatism'. From 1995 to 2005 he had his own art studio at the island of Bali, Indonesia. Today you can find him working in his huge atelier in the harbour of Monnickendam, the Netherlands (5 kms from Amsterdam). Exhibitions worldwide
Tervoort had already exhibitions in Amsterdam (Amsterdam Light Festival 2013 with floating light objects in the river Amstel). He also had a solo exposition at the famous Amstel Hotel (Amsterdam) in 2014. Furthermore exhibitions followed in Brussels, Dubai, London, Hamburg, New York, Stockholm, Tokyo as well as the Shenzhen Museum in Shenzhen, Guangdong, China (2014). During the Affordable Art Fair London 2014 a trendwatcher noticed his work (the Patternbank). On their blog they showed trendforecasts for new forms and designs in art and fashion. His name together with some other artists were mentioned in this blogpost. After that Tervoort became even more busier than he was already.
