IArts Intro Nights

The second Intro Night is coming up! Next Wednesday the 11th of December. Doors open at 19.30h and the program starts at 20.00h, free entrance. This time the first years will perform 13 individual pieces, inspired by art works they have seen in Aachen. We hope to see you there!

The new Intro night will be on the 23th of October. This time organized by the thirst and second years! On the evening we will show what we worked on in the workshop from Jeff Abell on Monday and Tuesday. Interested in this evening and ofcourse meeting the new fresh first years? The iArts students have already started their third block of the year, in which they will make an interactive installation, and this evening will be linked to that project. I'm from Aachen which is located at the "Three Country Corner" Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands.
Since my early childhood I draw and paint a lot and music is a very important part of my life as well, especially playing the violin. Both my father and my mother being scientists and teachers, I grew up getting interested in various kinds of literature which reach from fantasy to lexical and poetic genres. My motivation is to deepen those interests within the iArts family.

I was born last century in a place that is known by some for it's beer and which I last saw at my first birthday. I grew up in a small barock town with two castles and a pink church in southern germany. I am a thinker, an analyst, an experimental cook and performer, an expressionist, a listener, a poet, a philosopher, a theologist, an actor, a director, a critic, a hobby psychologist a
nd singer, and much more. My first paid job was in the church, my second as a pantomime. I love learning new languages, summer rain and most people. I don't like mathematics, bad smell and narrow-mindedness. My dream would be a world with people who see the beauty in things, care for each another and bake me lots of glutenfree cookies.

Born at the end of may 1990 in Rotterdam where I grew up in the Wild West part of the city. Being a Gemini I'm curious, versatile and mentally active. I used to say that there is Quicksilver rushing trough my body and brains all the time. I always have a curiosity in a variety of interest, but I'm also easily distracted and bored. I'm mostly of the time aroused and fully enjoying life. I would love to travel more and discover the world, leave the little Lowlands, be inspired by other cultures. My passions are Film and Theatre, but my interest can be much more. Hopefully I will discover them in the next three years at iArts. Time will tell what the future brings and for now "Carpe Diem!"

I am Dirk Windhorst, interdisciplinary artist in the making, has been gymnastics teacher, childhood-dream-cook, professional amateur actor, once a proud citizen of Breda, renegade student, loyal shoulder to cry on, writer of the worst introduction ever made, Friday night tramp , 20 year old mind in the body of a 4 year old ( or was it the other way around), part time Ghostbuster, future ruler of the world, the embodiment of all that is completely normal and much more.
