OPENING: POPOP art x PARCOURS

“Mini Mall Movement”

Op zondag 12 mei om 15:00 uur is de opening van onze tweede expositie als Parcour. Na een zinderende expositie bij W139 in Amsterdam, zijn we nu te gast bij POPOP's gloednieuwe locatie in de Molenpoort Passage, Nijmegen!

Met ‘Mini Mall Movement’ brengen we als diverse groep een explosie van kleur, vorm en expressie, drama en vrolijkheid naar de nieuwe expositieruimte!

De opening wordt verrijkt met performances door Elky Rosa Gerritsen en Danielle Brans.

𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙡𝙞𝙫𝙚𝙨 𝙗𝙚𝙩𝙬𝙚𝙚𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙨𝙚𝙨 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙖𝙗𝙤𝙫𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙚𝙚𝙩𝙨?Once upon a time, when all the things you see, picked a colour for their body, the wind was too late. All the colours were given away and the wind left with no colour at all.

The tremendous, fluid body the wind is, became so sad it was just hanging around for ages.
On a sunny day, the wind was finally sick of just hanging. Carried by the heat of the sun, the wind started moving. The wind thought: "Maybe I can find something that would share their colour with me!"
The search began and the wind looked everywhere. A lot of things were so keen on their colour that they preferred not to share it. The sand was so friendly, it lent the wind some colour. The wind tried it on for a while but it didn't feel right. Also the fog was happy to help but also the white of the fog wasn't what the wind was hoping for.
After such a long time having no colour, no colour seemed perfect for the wind.
The search went on and on.
During the search the wind flew over the sea and slid off mountains and enjoyed how the creatures responded when the wind came by, the wind realised it was able to be everywhere.
The wind observed how all the things and creatures with colour treated each other, the wind grew fond of its invisibility.
"Now I can disturb those visible creatures! or comfort them!" thought the wind.
But most importantly, the wind fell in love with playing with all the visible things and creatures!

Over the mountains and the sees, between the houses and above the streets. With tree branches, dune grasses and human hair.

Even though you cannot see it, the wind made it its job to let you know when it's around,

Could we catch space? Emptiness? Nothingness? Can we move it?
The project Collecting Space started in 2019. At the end of that summer, I had a collection of 15 pieces of space, collected and donated by friends and family.
A couple of months later I was, as the whole world, locked inside. Home became a destination instead of a place of temporary stay. The obviousness of traveling had disappeared and with that my appreciation for my own living space, but also the value of this work, changed.

From questioning if I would be able to move ‘nothing’, it transformed to researching the value of space and the value of being there.
instead of looking for a general answer to what is space, I ask you the question, which space is worth it?

Catching some more space on the spot!

During the opening of the exhibition in Almere, I had the honour to take the stage and have a little talk to the public about my project: Collecting Space.
A project based on donated beachballs and bottles in wich space is cought from all over the world 💛 To save some space, archive to moment and connect with the environment.

Afgelopen week druk bezig geweest met het opbouwen van de mijn werk bij Corrosia in Almere, trots op het resultaat en klaar voor morgen

performing 4 times a day for 7 days, during the exhibition of ALL INN

it's been an honour and a great pleasure to perform in such an amazing exhibition.

ALL INN is happening NOW
The first national gradshow, at the moment in het Hem!

ALL INN for new connections 💛

In weird year of adjusting and adapting to new circumstances we graduated from a art academy, as young artists we felt the urgency to meet. So we connected, we zoomed and skyped a lot and we worked even more

Now, After 9 months of preparing we have a exhibition with over 160 just graduated artists.

Although the visitors are extremely limited, we connect, we are ALL INN this together, we are ALL INN for new connections.
