Food Lab - Jan van Eyck Academie Combined, these three principles support and encourage an experimental approach to the preparation and preservation of our food.

The Jan van Eyck's Food lab acts as an in-depth research platform to facilitate artists and designers who work with food as a medium so that they have a place to experiment practically and incubate their developing research. One of the core values of the Jan van Eyck is the value of food and shared eating spaces, considering the dinner table as a fundamental platform for discussion and conversation. Our concept and vision for the lunch café is based around three main principles; local, seasonal, and organic produce from mostly independent small-holding farmers, absolute minimum waste, recycling and plant-based sustainability.
