Block 8 is the final block in the Picture Perfect QAL. Of course there are 9 blocks in the quilt, so for the ninth block I would like to encourage you to create your own pattern using one of the rulers. Or you can repeat your favorite one.

The final instructions are for the Smiley ruler, by . With some marking and using both sides of the ruler we're going to make an intricate design on our block.

Time for Block 6! We are at 2/3 of the quilt. Today we quilt our block with the Taj ruler by . A fun pattern that can be used in borders or fill up a space like we are doing today.

After making a quilt with a minky backing for Ella, it was time to also make such a soft quilt for Jules.

He picked a red panda quilt pattern by . I changed the pattern a little bit to make it larger, and added a stripey border around the quilt.

Quilting on minky with the Q-Matic wasn't all as scary as I thought it would be! The only thing was that it took a little longer to get it nicely loaded to the longarm frame.

The paws turned out so fun on the soft backing. This pattern is called Passing Paws by .longarm.quilting

Merry Christmas in July!

𝟭𝟬 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝗜 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗲𝗱 ... .. while working with the Q-Matic on my Bernina long arm over the last two years.

(One of which is that my fav foot by far is the Gliding Cup Foot #74)

It's been two years since the Big Q moved into my studio. A longarm with an automated quilting system. A dream come true! As a former engineer and programmer this is such awesome machinery!
