“The challenge is to create an emotion in a sculpture, in a way that someone who has been touched by it, is inextricably linked with it forever. An image that evokes certain feelings such as security, falling in love, sadness or letting go of material earthly existence”.

New bronze and ceramic sculptures from Giuseppe Lamers arrived at our galleries. Link in bio!

“That’s the thing about cheetahs - they really do have an extraordinary shape which is rarely captured on film as the camera is not at ground level. However, if that perspective can be fully achieved, the viewer is left in no doubt that the cheetah is really all legs, with a little head and a little body. No wonder it is the fastest animal on earth.” – David Yarrow

Mark your calendar!

On Friday, May 24th, Tim Fowler will unveil his first solo exhibition in the Netherlands - ‘Organic Contemplations’ - at Kunsthuis Amsterdam.

The young British artist has swiftly captured the attention of the international art world. Tim Fowlers semi abstracted paintings, informed by the migratory plants that accompanied his own DNA, from west Africa, via the Caribbean to the UK, fill his often oversized canvases, overwhelming the viewer with striking compositions, executed in Tim’s signature palette.

He uses a variety of medium within his work combining oil, acrylic, spray, enamel and graffiti inks. Tim’s unique and experimental approach has resulted in a captivating body of work, ranging from botanical elements and architectural structures to intimate family moments. The deconstruction of his subject is rebuilt in a cacophony of colour turning recognisable features into their base elements to highlight unseen splendor.

The exhibition ‘Organic Contemplations’ will be on show at Kunsthuis Amsterdam from May 25th to June 16th, 2024. We are delighted to invite you to the festive opening on Friday, May 24th, from 17:00 to 20:00.

Acrylic on linen, 2019, signed

Joyce: “The word LIKE in isolation struck me initially because of its elevated status within social media platforms. It’s such an overused word now it’s almost lost its meaning or at least its sincerity. LIKE could be considered a defining word of today’s internet generation in a similar way to LOVE in the ’60 and ‘70s.”

On Friday, April 19th, Selwyn Senatori will open his latest solo exhibition, ‘Look at Me Now’, at Kunsthuis Amsterdam! 🥂

With ‘Look at Me Now’, Senatori connects the Golden Age with contemporary life, paying homage to two seemingly opposing forces. A fusion of past and present. ‘Look at Me Now’ is a visual journey in which Senatori bridges different eras and societal contexts in a thoroughly contemporary manner. Senatori entrusts pre-millennium artifacts, pop culture, and consumer society to the canvas, using a deep black background and a golden edge to evoke a sense of nostalgia and recognition.

The exhibition ‘Look at Me Now’ will be on show at Kunsthuis Amsterdam during the weekend of April 20th and 21st & we would love to invite you to the festive opening on Friday, April 19th from 17.00u to 20.00u 🥂

💛
James Joyce began his career as a graphic designer and later transitioned into an illustrator for companies such as Apple, Nike, and The New York Times. His international breakthrough came in 2015 when he was asked to exhibit at Banksy’s parody of Disneyland, “Dismaland”.

Characteristic of Joyce is his ability to reinterpret universal signs or symbols, such as the smiley, in a pronounced and humorous manner. The artist challenges himself to make icons his own without losing their recognizable traits.

Brian Eno (1948, England) began his creative career as a synthesizer player in the Glam Rock band Roxy Music, where he played a significant role in defining their unique sound. As a music producer, Brian Eno was responsible for some of the most iconic records in music history.

But Brian Eno’s creativity extends beyond music. Throughout his career, Brian Eno has created a wide range of artworks, including paintings, installations, and other visual art forms. His work is often experimental, exploring concepts of sound, light, and space.

When it comes to his approach to art, Eno once explained it as follows: “I tried to slow the music down so it would sound more like painting, and to animate the paintings so they would feel more like music… hoping that the two would meet in the middle.”

New in: KAWS, the Tension series 💥

The Tension series, launched in 2019, capture the essence of KAWS’ artistic roots in graffiti, street culture and animation through its vibrant, expressive shapes.

Each print within this collection shows a unique composition of bright and bold graffiti shapes. Unlike his other works, the designs in this series are more abstract and don’t feature the artist’s well-known cartoon characters. If looked at closely, KAWS’ signature crosses can be recognized in many of the prints, which is a recognizable element of his visual style.

The prints were released in a limited edition of 100.
