On Saturday, June 13th, we’re closing our International Comedy Night season with a big one!
For the very last English comedy night before the summer break, we’ve got a line-up full of fresh faces, international stories and very funny people.
Your MC for the night is Emily Higgson, an American comedian known for her twisted, high-energy comedy. Friends have described Emily as “kind of funny” and “average height.” Emily describes herself as “extremely funny” and “very tall.” So yes, we’re already off to a good start.
Also taking the stage is Kaili Smith, a comedian and artist based in Amsterdam, who started comedy while living as a painter in New York. His comedy dives into the chaos of modern life, globalization, family, identity and all the strange realities we try to make sense of.
Next up is Rashi Agarwal, the tallest Indian in the Netherlands, known for her viral videos about Dutch culture and sharp takes on feminism, ethical fashion, white privilege and colonialism. After six years in the Netherlands, she may have become more Dutch than expected, but she still refuses to accept that a “broodje kaas” counts as lunch.
Our talent spot is Carlos Montoya, a Venezuelan stand-up comedian based in the Netherlands. And although he’s taking the talent spot this evening, Carlos already brings plenty of stage experience. Performing in both English and Spanish, he brings sharp observations, cultural clashes, self-mockery and stories about life as an expat to the stage.
And we close the night with Rogier Bak. Dutch, yes, but he has worked incredibly hard to make sure you could never tell. After spending his formative years in the US, Rogier often feels like a foreigner in his own country. His energetic storytelling comedy is personal, expressive and very engaging.
One last International Comedy Night before summer, packed with brilliant comedians and plenty of laughs.
Grab your tickets through the website and join us on June 13!
Please note: this edition starts at 19:30.
