Wetenschapsfilosoof Sabine Winters over filmaliens als spiegel voor de mens, parapsycholoog Douwe Bosga over alien abductions en de film Fire in the Sky en dr. Tanya Wijngaarde over haar Surinaamse ufo avonturen en schoolyard encounters als inleiding voor de docu over het Westall ufo incident.

Ze waren stuk voor stuk geweldig!

🏆 CONGRATULATIONS to Matthew Salton for winning our JURY AWARD for his thoughtful documentary essay PSYCHEDELIC IN THE SKY.

Blending personal reflection, eyewitness testimony and the ideas of Jacques Vallée, Salton explores how unusual experiences are remembered, interpreted and transformed into belief. The film impressed the jury with its intimate approach, clear structure and nuanced portrayal of a side of the UFO phenomenon rarely seen on screen.

This year, alongside our Jury Award, we introduced an Audience Award for the very first time.
After the screening, festival visitors cast their vote by tearing off the ballot of their favourite short film and handing it in as they left the auditorium.

🏆 CONGRATULATIONS to Marcus Gale for winning our inaugural AUDIENCE AWARD for his inventive mockumentary GRAIN OF TRUTH.

Chosen by the visitors of Unidentified Anomalous Pictures 2026, the film combines mysterious archive-style footage with a playful but unsettling question: Do we believe what we see, or do we see what we believe? Its atmosphere, originality and clever use of documentary conventions made it this year's audience favourite.
