t/m 2 augustus in MUGA
Galerie MUGA proudly presents Structure Failure, a solo exhibition by the Chinese artist ZhongNai. For MUGA, this is one of the most special exhibitions to date: ZhongNai is not only a respected fellow artist, but also a personal friend of gallery owner Age Hartsuiker. This collaboration gives the exhibition an extra layer of meaning.
An exhibition that resonates with the times we live in
In Structure Failure, ZhongNai explores what happens when familiar structures begin to falter. His work reflects a world in which systems are under pressure, certainties shift, and people are forced to reconsider their place — in the economy, in nature, and in human relationships.
The exhibition shows how chaos does not have to be a threat, but can become a method. In his works, paint, rope, remnants and layers let go of their original function. They move between construction and decay, between tension and release. What first appears fragmented gradually forms direction. What seems chaotic reveals a new rhythm.
A historical lineage, a contemporary urgency
ZhongNai’s approach stands in a tradition of artists who challenge the stability of form and meaning — from Cubism to Arte Povera and the material experiments of Eva Hesse. At the same time, his work connects to contemporary questions about how we look, think and create meaning in a time of constant change.
An invitation to reflect
Structure Failure invites visitors to look differently: not at what is finished, but at what is in the process of becoming. The exhibition encourages reflection on existence — on who we are, how we relate to one another, to the world, and to the systems that shape our daily lives.
