Follow-Me performer tracking was utilised at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama ( ) this year, supporting the lighting design for the production As You Like It. Produced entirely by a student production team, the show saw Lighting Designer Catja Hamilton working alongside third-year Theatre Technology student Rohan Green , who took on the role of ALD/Programmer, with the Follow-Me system operated by second-year student Jazz Weekes .

When researching into performer tracking and spot lighting, I liked the concept of tracking the performer rather than controlling a light, as other systems do, as well as the amount of control I was able to have as a lighting programmer over the system and target assignments,” says Green. “Because of the large set of stairs and platform on top of the truck, we needed something that handled the changes in Z height well.

This Follow-Me DELT∆ v2.2.1 release introduces an optional beta version of mesh behaviour, with improved target handling for complex stage layouts. The feature is disabled by default and can be enabled under Settings.

➕️ Advanced mesh behaviour supports multiple mesh layers at different heights, allowing you to create stages with balconies, raised platforms or other multi-level performance areas. Dedicated mappings are available to move a target between mesh levels, making it easy to perform a pickup on another level without having to follow connecting geometry such as stairs or ramps.

➕️ When enabled, targets also remain on their current mesh layer and no longer move between disconnected parts of the mesh. This prevents targets from unexpectedly jumping between separate stage areas, resulting in more predictable tracking on complex meshes.

Follow-Me DELT∆ the top model at ABOUT YOU’s Tempelhof catwalk

From the outset, the brief was clear: preserve Tempelhof’s raw airport aesthetic while ensuring flawless key lighting across every inch of the runway. Keylight Operator Ole Güllich and Lighting Designer Raphael Grebenstein, who served as Co-Lead Designers for Light Art Studios GmbH, set the creative tone early.

“The overall goal was to keep most of the airport aesthetics; that was the main theme of the show,” Güllich explains. “We wanted to go rather minimalistic, no big rigs over the catwalk. But we also had to ensure good key light across the whole runway.”

The Follow-Me Cam Set with PT Arm is designed for productions where camera positions regularly change, such as touring shows and temporary installations. The system allows you to fine-tune the camera angle after the camera has already been mounted in the truss, helping you quickly optimise the camera orientation for the best possible performer tracking view – without needing to lower the truss or physically reposition the camera.

The PT Arm adds remote pan and tilt adjustment to the static camset directly within the Follow-Me DELT∆ system, making setup faster and more practical in real-world touring environments where time and access can be limited.

The camera set is supplied in a dedicated transport box, which can also be used as an insert for customers’ own flight cases.

“Touring setups are rarely the same from day to day,” says Tim van Dijck, Product Manager at Follow-Me. “The PT Arm gives technicians a simple way to remotely adjust the camera orientation once the camera is already in the air, helping them quickly achieve the best possible view for performer tracking.”

Follow-Me DELT∆ our manual performer tracking system lit up a career-spanning celebration of Lulu this summer, culminating in a headline show at London’s Royal Albert Hall on June 1st. Luke Edwards took on the role of Lighting Designer for the run, which comprised three warm-up shows at various venues the week before the Royal Albert Hall date.

“This was a brilliant showcase for DELT∆, and there’s no better stage to prove yourself on than the Royal Albert Hall,” concludes Edwards. “Working with Axiom, Josh and Ben made the whole run feel effortless, even with guests being added right up to the wire. It’s exactly the kind of high-pressure, high-profile show that DELT∆ was built for, and I’m proud of what the whole team pulled off.”
