Nieuwe Vide is an arts podium and artist / cultural hub in Haarlem organizing exhibitions, events, workshops, open draws and much more.

Check out www.nieuwevide.com for the full programme. Nieuwe Vide is een expositieruimte en broedplaats in Haarlem. Wij zijn tijdens exposities geopend van vrijdag tot en met zondag, maar bekijk eerst even de website voor specifieke openingstijden. Nieuwe Vide is voor jonge kunstenaars een springplank naar de kunstwereld. Het netwerk van Nieuwe Vide geeft kunstenaars de kans om hun praktijk te professionaliseren. Daarnaast combineren wij jong talent en meer gevestigde kunstenaars in de programmering, die veelal nieuwe media (video, geluid, installaties) bevat, maar ook de ruimte geeft aan populaire cultuur (film, theater, strips, muziek). We zijn een maatschappelijk betrokken organisatie die door middel van een activiteiten- en educatieprogramma diverse onderwerpen voor het voetlicht brengt. Nieuwe Vide beschikt naast een tentoonstellingsruimte over een projectruimte en over twintig studio’s, die gebruikt worden door kunstenaars, muzikanten, cartoonisten, animatoren en creatieve ondernemers. Naast de eigen activiteiten werkt Nieuwe Vide regelmatig samen met andere instellingen binnen en buiten Haarlem. Zo organiseerden we in 2018 voor het eerst het GOLF festival voor experimentele muziek en audiovisueel werk, in samenwerking met de Pletterij en 37PK. Ook nemen we iedere editie deel aan Houtfestival, de Stripdagen Haarlem en werken we samen met Artcore en de Schuur Haarlem. Daarnaast werken we bijvoorbeeld samen met de Koninklijke Academie voor Beeldende Kunsten (KABK) in Den Haag en presenteren we eens per jaar een nieuwe kunstenaar op Supermarket Art Fair Stockholm. www.nieuwevide.nl

Ever wondered what's hidden in a tarot card? ✨ Tarot is so much more than fortune telling. It's a visual language full of symbols,colors and stories that people have been using for centuries to reflect on life.

In this workshop we'll look at the language of tarot: the symbols, the colors, and the little details that give each card its meaning, together with Ana López-Santacruz (designer, ceramicist and tarot lover).

She will guide you through the basics: what the most common symbols mean, how colors change the energy of a card, and how to start reading cards in an intuitive way.

Then it's your turn. You'll design and draw your own tarot card, using symbols that feel personal and meaningful to you. You'll draw your own card, one that speaks to you and your story. Ana will also share some simple tricks for reading cards, so you can take them home and keep playing. No experience needed, just curiosity 🌙

🌤️We celebrated abundance and thought about scarcity and distribution of energy. Rosalie showed us her projects and you can see the data, results and the documentary about the summer ice skating rink by in the exhibition. 🌤️

The world of energy is largely invisible. Artist and designer Rosalie Apituley (1998) questions why this is the case and explores how it could be different For example, last summer, Rosalie invited the people of the Netherlands to go ice skating on summer ice. At this temporary Summer Ice Rink, ice skating was only possible when there was an abundance of solar energy. The rink was cooled using electricity generated by solar panels on the roof of Amsterdam’s Olympic Stadium. In this way, she made visible the fact that, at certain moments, we actually generate more solar power than we can use.

How do these solar power surpluses work? What might a society look like that celebrates this abundance together? What does this mean for moments of scarcity?

Rosalie Apituley richt zich met haar werk op maatschappelijke vraagstukken, de (energie) infrastructuur en de sociale en culturele kant van de energietransitie. Bewegend tussen critical en social design, agendeert en bevraagt ze op een vaak onverwachte en humoristische wijze de actualiteit.

Ze is genomineerd voor de Emerging Talent Award van de en studeerde cm laude af aan de opleiding Product Design aan ArtEZ Hogeschool voor de Kunsten in Arnhem met het project Uit de meterkast.

In her work, Rosalie Apituley focuses on societal issues, (energy) infrastructure, and the social and cultural aspects of the energy transition. Moving between critical and social design, she addresses and questions current events in ways that are often unexpected and humorous.

She has been nominated for the Emerging Talent Award at the and graduated cm laude in Product Design from ArtEZ University of the Arts in Arnhem with the project 'Uit de meterkast'
