Nieuwe Vide is an arts podium and artist / cultural hub in Haarlem organizing exhibitions, events, workshops, open draws and much more.

Check out www.nieuwevide.com for the full programme. Nieuwe Vide is een expositieruimte en broedplaats in Haarlem. Wij zijn tijdens exposities geopend van vrijdag tot en met zondag, maar bekijk eerst even de website voor specifieke openingstijden. Nieuwe Vide is voor jonge kunstenaars een springplank naar de kunstwereld. Het netwerk van Nieuwe Vide geeft kunstenaars de kans om hun praktijk te prof

essionaliseren. Daarnaast combineren wij jong talent en meer gevestigde kunstenaars in de programmering, die veelal nieuwe media (video, geluid, installaties) bevat, maar ook de ruimte geeft aan populaire cultuur (film, theater, strips, muziek). We zijn een maatschappelijk betrokken organisatie die door middel van een activiteiten- en educatieprogramma diverse onderwerpen voor het voetlicht brengt. Nieuwe Vide beschikt naast een tentoonstellingsruimte over een projectruimte en over twintig studio’s, die gebruikt worden door kunstenaars, muzikanten, cartoonisten, animatoren en creatieve ondernemers. Naast de eigen activiteiten werkt Nieuwe Vide regelmatig samen met andere instellingen binnen en buiten Haarlem. Zo organiseerden we in 2018 voor het eerst het GOLF festival voor experimentele muziek en audiovisueel werk, in samenwerking met de Pletterij en 37PK. Ook nemen we iedere editie deel aan Houtfestival, de Stripdagen Haarlem en werken we samen met Artcore en de Schuur Haarlem. Daarnaast werken we bijvoorbeeld samen met de Koninklijke Academie voor Beeldende Kunsten (KABK) in Den Haag en presenteren we eens per jaar een nieuwe kunstenaar op Supermarket Art Fair Stockholm. www.nieuwevide.nl

We zijn terug met bij Nieuwe Vide! Elke 2 weken op woensdag is een avond vanaf 19:00u. Deze avonden wisselen af tussen open draws en workshops!

✨9 september zal er een Open Draw zijn en 23 september een workshop van : Tatreez Lab - A Stitch Without Thread, kaartjes via Eventbrite*

Voor de Open Draw van 9 september kom je gewoon binnenlopen en vragen wij een donatie van 3 euro*. Kom lekker tekenen met een kopje thee en werk aan je eigen project, of laat je inspireren door voorbeelden, materialen (aanwezig in onze projectruimte) of andere mensen.

✨23 september, 19:00 zal er een workshop gegeven worden door .
Tatreez is traditionele Palestijnse kruissteekborduurkunst waarin motieven verhalen vertellen over identiteit, familie en plaats. Met kunstenaar Mohammed Abushaban experimenteren deelnemers met Tatreez-motieven en alternatieve technieken zoals 3D-stempels en textiel, en onderzoeken ze thema’s als herinnering, identiteit en ontheemding. Tegen extra kosten kan een ontwerp op een sjaal worden gemaakt.* (link in bio)

Whoah, what a great last few days we had! We will be having a SUMMERBREAK where we will be regrouping, organizing after summer events and resting our bodies in the meantime.

✨The at Nieuwe Vide will still be open Tuesday to Thursday from 14:00 to 17:00 for you to work on your own projects, to read, to join the Taalcafé or the Community café. Check their instagram or nieuwevide.com/agenda for the programme.

✨ will continue their Voku’s (people’s kitchen) and movienights at Nieuwe Vide. Check their instagram for their activities!

✨We are BACK with a Open Draw on the 9th of September (every other Wednesday) as well as Soephoek at 13:00 (every Wednesday from then on!)

✨AND with a brand new exhibition on the 10th of October.

O M G ! Thank you all for coming to Paradijsbloemen Catwalk! Thank you to everyone involved in and everyone who had the courage to go on the runway and show your full self!

We had a blast! We are so happy that we can facilitate providing safer, braver spaces. Yesterday were able to celebrate our proud paradise flowers and we see it as an honour to be a fertile ground for new flowers to grow from. 🌹💐🌷🥀🪻🪷🌺🌸🌼🌻

We will always stand in solidarity with our communities and can’t wait to see what we will do together in the years that come!

O M G! Dank allemaal voor het komen naar de Paradijsbloemen Catwalk! Dank aan iedereen die betrokken is bij en aan iedereen die de moed had om op de runway te staan en te laten zien wie je echt bent!

We hebben enorm genoten! We zijn ontzettend blij dat we kunnen bijdragen aan veiligere- en ‘braver’ spaces/plekken. Gisteren konden we onze trotse paradijsbloemen vieren; Het is een eer om een vruchtbare bodem te zijn waaruit nieuwe bloemen kunnen groeien.🌹💐🌷🥀🪻🪷🌺🌸🌼🌻

We blijven solidair met onze communities en kunnen niet wachten om te zien wat we de komende jaren samen gaan doen!

Step into the spotlight during our Rainbow Catwalk Show: a creative, inclusive show in which q***r people show their own definition of Pride. Expect drag, flair, vulnerability, humour and above all: space to dare to be yourself in your own way.

This year you can also walk along the catwalk as a couple, as a collective, as throuple, because united we are strong. Whether you come to shine in full glam, casual cool or somewhere in between: your story, your style, your Pride.

In between the radiance we take good care of each other: Q***r Soup Kitchen provides lunch from 13:00, and we close with a nice drink to talk and celebrate together.

Stap in de spotlights tijdens onze Rainbow Catwalk Show: een creatieve, inclusieve show waarin q***r mensen hun eigen definitie van Pride laten zien. Verwacht drag, flair, kwetsbaarheid, humor en vooral: ruimte om op jouw eigen manier jezelf te durven zijn.

Dit jaar kun je ook als koppel, als collectief of als throuple over de catwalk lopen, want samen staan we sterk. Of je nu komt om te stralen in volledige glamour, casual cool of ergens daartussenin: jouw verhaal, jouw stijl, jouw Pride.

Tussen alle glitter en glamour door zorgen we goed voor elkaar: Q***r Soup Kitchen verzorgt vanaf 13:00 de lunch, en we sluiten af met een gezellige borrel om samen bij te praten en te vieren.

We are open this Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 12:00 to 17:00!
This Saturday the 11th* we have the finissage from 14:00 to 17:00, come meet the artists and have a drink with us!
*the exhibition will be open on Sunday too.

11.07.2026 - 14:00 - 17:00: Come to celebrate the finissage (end) of the exhibition ‘Our Ever Expanding Body: creating a network of q***r visual storytellers’, by , with us on the 11th of July!

Between 14:00 and 17:00 some of the artists will be present to show you around one last time.

Can’t make it? Your last chance will be the next day the 12th between 12:00 and 17:00 the exhibition will still be open. But if you want to have a drink with us before our summerbreak* we hope to see you on the 11th!

*after this the the Living Room will be open only from Tuesday to Thursday again, with a summer schedule of 14:00 - 17:00 until September.

Before our summer break begins (starting July 15), there are still several activities happening at Nieuwe Vide! (NL in comments)

✨ June 28 — Haarlem Town Q***rs Plant Swap

✨ July 1 — On July 1 we are closed during the day, but in the evening we'll come together for our open drawing session Teken Or Leave It Open draw during Keti Koti (7:00 PM – no registration needed)

✨ July 8 is our last weekly Soephoek

✨ July 9 — Jong Fems Movienight

✨ July 11 — Our exhibition Our Ever Expanding Body can still be seen through July 12, with a closing drinks event on July 11 (2:00 PM – 5:00 PM).

✨ July 23 — The Q***r image, a collaboration between Schuur and Nieuwe Vide, will take place on July 23 (21:15) with a screening of Jim Queen and the Quest for Chloroq***r and an artist talk with makers from the Q***r Storytelling Network, with Guus Møystad & Ndeh Monteiro.

✨ July 29 — On July 29, during Pride Haarlem, Nieuwe Vide will host a Rainbow Catwalk Show with lunch by Q***r Kitchen. (1:00 PM – 5:00 PM)

✨ Ongoing activities — After July 12, the last day of Our Ever Expanding Body, the office will close, but people will still be working in their studios in our building. The Jong Fem Collectief activities will also continue, such as the voku and the movie nights.

🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈 The exhibition ‘Our Ever Expanding Body: creating a network of q***r visual storytellers’ is on display at Nieuwe Vide until July 12th. 'Our Ever-Expanding Body' is a project by artist collective Dit Lichaam van Ons (This Body of Ours) in collaboration with Nieuw Vide. (NL in comments) 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍🌈

Composting the experiences and lessons learned during the Dit Lichaam van Ons exhibition during and beyond Stripdagen Haarlem 2024, Nieuwe Vide and artist collective Dit Lichaam van Ons return to the collaboration with a new (re)generation of q***r visual storytellers.

In 2024 Dit Lichaam van Ons published a manifesto for the future of Dutch comics: a future in which manifold expression, joy, and artistic experimentation play center stage and we acknowledge and embrace our past as a pulp medium rather than disown it for acceptance in the mainstream. An important aspect of this approach was also that it became more common to pay artists fairly for their contributions and professionalise the comics world.

Now, four members of the Dit Lichaam van Ons Collective (Abe Borst, Dido Drachman, Gus Møystad and Saint Theophanu) returned in a new collaborative cycle of the collective’s intention to inspire and grow the Dutch q***r comics scene with a mentorship program titled “Our Ever-Expanding Body,” in which mentees are paired with mentors to develop a new exhibition and to develop themselves artistically and exchange ideas. During the final Open Draw of our Teken or Leave it events, before the Vide Summer Break, we will reflect together on Keti Koti. On July 1st, we commemorate the victims of slavery and simultaneously celebrate its abolition. Nieuwe Vide is closed during the day because this is, and should be, a recognized national holiday for everyone. Nevertheless, we find it important to be together on that day.

We therefore encourage you, during this open drawing evening, to take a moment with us to reflect on and celebrate what the emancipation of enslaved people (and their families) and oppressed people means – in relation to Keti Koti, but also beyond. Tea and coffee will be available. Materials and paper will be provided.

We moedigen je daarom tijdens deze open teken avond aan om stil te staan bij én te vieren wat de emancipatie van (familie van) tot slaaf gemaakten en onderdrukte mensen betekent – in relatie tot Keti Koti, maar ook daarbuiten. Er zal thee en koffie zijn. Materiaal en papier zal aanwezig zijn.
