A portrait of - I saw a in Amsterdam on Thursday with my wife and he was great - she is more of a fan than I am but I left won over - (weirdly we both saw him in a pub in London Holborn called the ivy which was a regular haunt and now closed back in 2008/9 and wasn’t until many years later we realized it was him - very humble and nice guy) I thought he would make for an interesting painting and by far the best I have seen is by an artist I love his style and wanted to do a copy of how he painted him to push myself a bit more - hope it came out good but enjoyed the process regardless -

Making an effort to try and do some painting every evening to keep up the discipline - this evening I tried a looser style of painting a study of again along way to go before I can reach that level but trying new things

Evening portrait study of a portrait not sure I do him Justice but was fun to paint and use a different pallet from my usual portrait - love his stuff and nice to practice different styles on my journey to discover my own

Took a break from a Commission to get out of a rut and had a go at another study really love the mood he creates in his portraits along with his bold brush work - think this came out good and was a lot of fun to do. Painted in one sitting

Last nights progress on an outstanding commission - two dogs still a work in progress but I think I have got over a painting rut to get it done soon ofcourse never easy to know when to stop

Reaching out to all I recently created a Facebook group called Artists in Haarlem for amateurs and professionals alike to share, support and network in the local area - I just got started so would be great to get to connect with some of you locally to better get to know the local art scene.
