On behalf of Commotie we would like to express our support for the LGTB community on Coming Out Day. In a time when the number of hate-crimes is increasing and discriminatory ideologies are being legitimized, q***r lives are put at stake.

Therefore, as a student association it is our duty to create a community where everyone is welcome, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity. We wish for a time in which acquiring a label is not a necessary step of a q***r person’s life, however, since the fight for LGBT rights is still ongoing, there is a pressing need for institutions to recognize the community and endorse their safety.

So today more than ever, happy Coming Out Day! 🏳️‍🌈
