Stichting WEP is een platform voor professionele kunstenaars en vormgevers met een eigen gezicht. Naast atelierruimte biedt WEP regelmatig exposities en evenementen, met een frisse blik op kunst in Groningen.

Introducing our guest artist for upcoming Drink & Draw: Riane Pater - a special edition where we can experience how it is to draw like a child with tools made by Riane ✏️

Riane Pater is an artist living and working in Groningen who is fascinated by the world around her, and the way we, the people, live our lives with the things we have made. Through her works she wants to express her absurd perspective on life, which she herself proclaims to be neither wrong nor right. ‘What can we hold on to if there is nothing to hold on to’ is one of the questions that’s proven essential to her work.

For Drink & Draw, Riane has developed new ways of drawing for us. Join us and experience a different dimension of drawing by using Riane’s self-made tools.

Get inspired by the work of Marieke Druiven upcoming Friday April 3rd during Drink & Draw

Marieke Druiven is an illustrator and animator working and living in Groningen. Her work has a strong hand-made identity, whether it’s an illustration, miniature, screenprint or installation. Her style is defined by rough, but detailed, shapes and materials such as cardboard, thick acrylic paint and clay. The themes in her work are often about human interaction, family, friends, the bizarre, but also the mundane.

Upcoming Friday at WEP: SEEN w/ Miku Sato & Beth Ka-Yi Wong

About the artists:

🔹 Miku Sato is an artist working across video installations and workshops. Rooted in community-based fieldwork, her practice explores storytelling as a way to weave traces of lived encounters through time, recently focusing on colonial histories and food culture.

🔹 Beth Ka-Yi Wong is a collector of poetic fragments drawn from the urban fringe. Built on painterly foundations, her practice explores the theme of longing for belonging through the observation, recollection, and translation of her immediate surroundings.
