New year, new NITE! 🎈🎈🎈

With the arrival of 2023, as the passage of another year slowly started to sink in, NITE has begun fantasizing about manifesting the best version of itself – a version where YOU would be sitting behind the front wheel. We wanted to create a community where we can involve our audiences more into the processes behind theater production, as well as create a space where like-minded individuals can meet and communicate.

This is why we decided to create the concep of 2JOIN. With this project, we hope to cater to the needs of a subculture of people that feel like there is no place in the city where their interests could be explored. Sounds good?! Well, then keep an eye out to find out the six new programs, each of which is going to take place under the concept of NITE; each of which would represent a different aspect of the theater world that we want to show to you!

In TIME.CHANGE zien we vader en zoon elk op eigen wijze omgaan met hun Senegalese verleden en een nieuw Nederlandse heden. Met een blik op de toekomst delen ze de tijd. Wat behoud je, wat laat je los? Wat pak je op, wat laat je staan?

TIME.CHANGE is de derde video gemaakt in het kader van BACK2BACK, een samenwerkingsverband tussen NITE, theaterfestival Jonge Harten, vooropleiding theater De Noorderlingen en Theater de Steeg. De video's worden geproduceerd door filmproductiehuis De Gelukzoekers.

Onze stagiaire Merel van den Berge leidt aankomende zondag op NITEHotel.org/bar het nagesprek van 🌳OOM WANJA🌳, als onderdeel van haar stage.

Merel studeert dit jaar af als theaterdocent en theatermaker aan de Hogeschool voor de Kunsten in Utrecht. Ze heeft zich in het laatste jaar van haar opleiding onder andere verbonden het Noord Nederlands Toneel en de voorstelling OOM WANJA.

Hoe brengen we samen verandering teweeg? Schuif op zondag 20 december om 14:00 aan de de digitale tafel met acteurs Bram van der Heijden, Joost Bolt, ecoloog Daniel Knoop en activist en documentairemaker Sunny Bergman.

SWANJA (Swan Lake + Oom Wanja) workshop day!

After seeing Swan Lake and Oom Wanja, we gave you the change to act and/or dance your own versions of the performance. 6 trained theatre professionals guided you through the creation process and helped you to understand the narratives and techniques used in the performance.

We also talked about inevitable change: an important theme in both performances.
