What started as an ambitious MTM design turned into a clean and minimal coaxial speaker project. 🔊
For this first DIY speaker build, the original idea was to create an MTM design with two 8-inch woofers and an AMT, inspired by other impressive builds found on Instagram. A friend suggested starting with a simpler coaxial approach instead, and that turned out to be the perfect starting point.
As a graphic designer, the visual design was just as important as the sound. The goal was to create a clean, minimal cabinet that almost feels like a graphic object. The full-width slot port not only made construction easier, but also became an integral part of the design, inspired by the way Onken-style cabinets use their ports.
Component used in this build:
• FaitalPro 10HX240 bass midwoofer coaxial
The project is a great example of how inspiration from the DIY audio community can turn into something completely personal.
A huge thanks to Marc Eden for sharing this project and the story behind it with us!
