Breidagen, you were amazing!

I have a feeling this was one of my favourite markets so far! Not only because of having Fem - Your new crafty friend as a neighbour, but also the amazing atmosphere and all the wonderful chats with so many of you. (And of course, a huge thank you to my extra helpers Santa Orlovska, Eefje Gerlofsma, Katinka Leloux) who made those chats possible! 🫶🫶)

Thank you to everyone who stopped by, showed us what you’ve created with yarn from our shop, shared your plans for future projects, or simply came for a good chat. It truly means so much to see what you make and to be a little part of your creative journey. 🥹

Ever since I first laid eyes on the Wolfflower Sweater by AlexandraSoltyk | Knitwear design | I instantly fell in love with the design. And then, when I got to see it in real life at nederlandse brei- en haakdagen Breda back in February, I knew, I had to make one myself 🤩

Well, it’s finally happening. My Wolfflower Sweater is slowly growing, and I’m absolutely loving all the different textures, stitches and yarns that come together to create this beautiful design. I'm combining DROPS Design / Garnstudio Kid-silk, Brushed Alpaca silk and 2 shades of Drops Alpaca and for some added spark- Katia Yarns & Fabrics Combine & Paillettes.

Will it be finished before the end of the year? We’ll see🤭😂 Perhaps once I’m past the raglan section, things will start moving a little quicker! 🤭

If there’s one thing I truly love about having a physical yarn shop, it’s the connections I get to make with so many of you 🥹🫶

And another thing I absolutely love? Seeing in real life what you create with the yarn you get🥹🥹

Today, a truly inspiring knitter (.lamers1960 ) came by to choose some yarn for her next shawl. And when she showed us this absolute masterpiece she knitted with DROPS Alpaca.. well, we were truly amazed 😍

Honestly, a photo doesn’t do it justice. The details, the colours, the texture — everything was even more beautiful in person.

News from DROPS Design / Garnstudio DROPS Saga

I’ve made two samples already with Saga to see how it behaves, and I noticed that it shrinks a little after blocking, so it’s worth keeping that in mind when choosing your size for your project.
I really like the feel of it, though. It’s a rustic, natural wool yarn with a lovely woolly texture. And the cables look great with this yarn.

If you like DROPS Alaska, I think Saga is a great substitute. You could also use it as an alternative for Sandnes Garn Atlas or Peer Gynt.

Definitely one for those who love a more rustic, traditional wool yarn.

New Dundaga yarn arrived from last week and obviously, we had to unpack it together with Brunito 🫢❤️

We’re so excited about all the beautiful new colours and we can’t wait to take them with us to Nijkerk 15&16 October. ❤️ Are you coming?

Well… Weversmarkt Hoorn was definitely an unforgettable experience 🤭🧶

From somehow driving my busje through the narrow streets of Hoorn (with a few mini panic attacks along the way 😅, but hey, I managed and not even a single scratch 🤭😂), to getting completely soaked... twice from our tent roof and even more from all the rain we had. Aaand experiencing my very first outdoor market, where I learned a lot and already made plenty of notes, so I'll be even better prepared for Verweven in Zierikzee next month 🤭

But most of all, I couldn't have done it without Ingrid Riezebos and Katinka Leloux . Thank you for all your help, support, advice, laughs, and for making this such a fun experience. You truly made the day, and I can't wait to do it all again! 🫶

New goodies have arrived! And I'm so excited to finally unpack these beautiful new colours with you! Ever since I saw these colours during the factory tour back in May, I knew I had to get them. There are so many gorgeous shades, and I already have a few favourites... 🤭
