Het idee achter de Show & Tell?
We nodigen een FLINTA-professional uit de muzieksector uit om hun verhaal te delen. Het is dé plek om te horen hoe anderen hun weg vinden in de industrie, om te leren van hun ervaringen en om bakken vol inspiratie op te doen voor jouw eigen projecten.

Dit keer is het podium voor Sevgi Yazici!
Zij is een creative powerhouse uit Enschede met ruim 20 jaar ervaring in de eventwereld. Momenteel channelt ze al die passie in de co-creatie van de gloednieuwe nachtclub ANTIA. Tijdens de Show & Tell hoor je hier álles over!

The idea behind the Show & Tell?
We invite a FLINTA professional from the music industry to share their story. It’s the ultimate space to hear how others navigate the scene, learn from their real-world experiences, and soak up tons of inspiration for your own creative projects.

This time, the stage is for Sevgi Yazici!
She is a creative powerhouse from Enschede with over 20 years of experience in the event industry. Right now, she is channeling all that passion into the co-creation of the brand-new nightclub ANTIA. During the Show & Tell, she’ll be sharing all the ins and outs with us!

Ben jij een FLINTA-producer of muzikant en ligt er een track van jou op je laptop te wachten om gehoord te worden? Dit is je kans! Tijdens Plug & Play op zondag 21 juni organiseren we een Luister sessie.

Hoe werkt het?
Heel simpel: we pluggen je USB-stick in en luisteren samen naar jouw werk op een écht soundsystem.

Of het nu gaat om een volledig gepolijste track die bíjna op Spotify staat, of een ruwe loop van 30 seconden waar je in vastloopt; alle genres en alle niveaus zijn welkom. We zijn er om te sparren, elkaar feedback te geven en te leren van elkaars creatieve proces. Een veilige plek om te delen en te groeien!

Are you a FLINTA producer or musician, and do you have music waiting on your laptop to be heard? This is your moment! During Plug & Play on Sunday, June 21st, we are hosting a Listening Session.

How does it work?
It’s simple: we plug in your USB drive and listen to your work together on a proper soundsystem.

Whether it’s a fully polished track that’s this close to being finished, or a rough 30-second loop you’re stuck on; all genres and all experience levels are welcome. We’re here to brainstorm, give feedback, and learn from each other’s creative process. A safe space to share and grow!

Ben je een (beginnende) dj en heb je zin om op een ongedwongen manier kennis te maken met het draaien? Kom dan langs met je muziek op USB bij Plug & Play. Onze coach Øbsidian staat klaar om je op weg te helpen.

Al wat meer ervaring?
Heb je gewoon zin om in te pluggen en te draaien, alleen of samen met anderen uit de community? Dat kan natuurlijk ook. Iedereen is welkom.

Vijf jaar geleden startte The FemDem bij als een missie: ruimte creëren voor onderbelichte stemmen in de muziek. Wat begon als een idee, groeide uit tot een thuisbasis waar zichtbaarheid, experiment en gemeenschap voor Fem+ DJ’s en producers centraal staan.

En we blijven groeien! Vanaf dit jaar verwelkomen we en als nieuwe vaste radio curatoren in The FemDem-crew 💜💜💜

At this year’s U? community festival by Le Guess Who?, The FemDem had the chance to curate a day programme centered on Fem+ creators. The line-up brought together a panel on rest as resistance, two deep listening sets, and a producer workshop designed to share practice, process, and space for exchange.

Working with the LGW team was genuinely energising. Their bold approach to programming and their sensitivity to social dynamics created the right conditions for meaningful collaboration. The day also opened up new relationships both within and beyond our existing network: from connecting with local Utrecht DJs and producers, to meeting LnHD & rEmPiT g0dDe$$, who run Align.online. These individual connections are an important part of how our community continues to grow.

We’re grateful to the LGW team, all participating artists, and Ableton for supporting the workshop. Moments like these show what becomes possible when festivals actively make room for new perspectives and talent that often stays out of sight.

Tijdens Museumnacht Enschede bundelden The FemDem en de Reisopera hun krachten voor een onverwachte ontmoeting tussen opera en elektronische muziek. In de setting van Cube, de boulderhal op hoge hoogtes, klonk een opera die letterlijk boven het publiek uitsteeg.

Producer Jarlentji en mezzosopraan Isabel Pronk brachten samen twee klassieke aria’s tot leven in een nieuwe elektronische vertaling: klassiek en experimentele beats versmolten tot één bijzondere performance. DJ’s Jill-Ann en Angie Mill, zorgden daarna voor een overgang van opera naar feest tijdens de afterparty, in het schildersatelier waar normaal de decors van opera’s worden gebouwd.

We kijken terug op een bijzondere samenwerking. De avond liet zien wat er kan ontstaan als onverwachte werelden elkaar durven te ontmoeten.

The FemDem invites you to a panel talk with Loma Doom and Latoya on resilience, joy, collectivity, and rest within the practices of FEM+ makers.

Together, we’ll explore what it means to find strength in softness, to embrace joy as a form of resistance, and to create collective spaces for rest and care.

Moderated by Vanity Roxane, this conversation invites reflection on how we, as makers, can continue to grow, breathe, and flourish within an unequal field. Expect honest dialogue, shared experiences, and moments of connection.

This panel takes place as part of U?, the free community festival by Le Guess Who. If you stick around after the talk, you can also catch Loma Doom and Latoya behind the decks for a DJ set.
