We are LAB-1: films, friends, and events in the heart of Eindhoven. An independent cinema and event space, a coffee spot by day, and a bar by night.

We are a home for internationals and locals, and a place to stay moved. At LAB-1 you can experience films, live music, exhibitions, parties and events in 1 building! LAB-1 stands for retro, coziness, dynamism and creativity, a place to enjoy, hang out and feel at home. In LAB-1 you can work, play games, chill or relax in the evening with a drink in our cinema bar. You can watch the best Hollywood,

music films, art-house, classic and documentary films in one of our five cinemas and attend a comedy night, concert or event in our event room. For the best parties you can go to the club on the second floor and at the same time you go one floor higher to attend one of our film marathons. We are much more than a cinema. A place to amaze yourself! In 2014, LAB-1 was temporarily located in the abandoned building of Philips Physical laboratory on STRIJP-S. And in 2017, LAB-1 was temporarily located in the oldest building of Eindhoven: the Mariënhage monastery. In 2018 we took over the former Euro Cinema/cinema at the Keizersgracht 19 in Eindhoven! New this week! 🌟🎬

Backrooms - What started as a creepy internet image of endless yellow office corridors turned into one of online horror’s biggest myths. Inspired by liminal spaces, VHS aesthetics, and found-footage videos uploaded to YouTube, Backrooms taps into a very modern kind of fear: the feeling of being trapped in an empty, artificial place that never ends.

Agatha’s Almanac - Filmed over changing seasons, Agatha’s Almanac pays attention to the small routines that are usually cut from movies: gardening, cooking, preserving food, and keeping old habits alive. Slowly, these everyday actions become a quiet reflection on memory and aging.

Finding Emily - Made by the same studio behind Notting Hill and Bridget Jones’s Diary, Finding Emily updates the British rom-com for the era of online awkwardness and campus gossip. A simple search for one girl named Emily snowballs into a chaotic university-wide obsession full of memes, misunderstandings, and second-hand shame.

Tuner - Tuner takes the world of piano tuning and turns it into psychological suspense. The film worked with real instrument technicians and sound specialists, using tiny shifts in sound and silence to create tension out of the most normal things.

Solomamma - Developed with a largely non-professional cast and drawn from real interviews with single parents, Solomamma keeps its focus on the messy logistics of raising a child alone. Missed buses, late-night work shifts, and half-finished conversations, the story builds out of tiredness, routine, and the constant pressure of “doing enough” when you’re by yourself.
