You are very welcome at the opening of Next -Gen, on Sunday 21 June 3 - 5 pm. The exhibition features work by Len Creutzburg and Wouter van der Giessen, two young, talented artists participating in Talenthub jump! of the Province of North Brabant.

Len Creutzburg approaches the body as a system that functions like a machine driven by impulses, influences, triggers, and stored conditioning. Creutzburg explores the invisible processes that drive this system and attempts to recognize the underlying systematics and mechanical nature within it. These processes are translated into sculptures and interactive structures in which immaterial forces take shape. Through the use of audio, sensors, and interaction with the audience, the works function not only as representations but also as active elements.

Wouter van der Giessen explores icons from everyday life: symbols and objects that belong to everyone, yet each holds a personal story. Think of clouds, emoticons, and cars, eachsymbolizing the ordinary in its own way. In his private life, he uses these icons to make sense of his own emotions, therebyimbuing them with personal meaning.

Thom Puckey spoke about his exhibition at Galerie Nasty Alice, Petra Cardinaal provided lunch at Pennings Foundation, Vitor van Gaever discussed the exhibition at the Van Abbemuseum, Len Cruetzburg presented the Albert van Abbehuis, Luuk Nouwen shared all about Onomatopee, and Nico Thorne welcomed the group to Make Eindhoven. More than 800 visitors have visited the duo exhibition Let's pretend it's not the end of the world by Eliot Allsop and Thom Puckey so far. This is the last chance. The gallery is open on 28, 30, and 31 May.

During the fifth edition of Art Island, 25 renowned galleries will be presenting high-quality art on the historic Fort Island IJmuiden. This fort is part of the Defense Line of Amsterdam, a UNESCO World Heritage Site just off the coast of IJmuiden. Once again this year, the performance festival On Goldon Pond is part of Art Island. This year’s special guest is This Art Fair.

Art Island sounds like a faraway place. But it takes just under half an hour to travel from Amsterdam to the port of IJmuiden. From there, you can take a boat to Art Island.
