We are very excited to be showing new work at the British Art Fair this September. Working on something beyond distinctions between physical and digital, tangible and intangible, present and absent. Stay tuned for more updates!

[They] cannot hear each other; they cannot see each other. They can only feel the other's warmth. That is their poetry, that is their art.

- Ursula K Le Guin, from The Author of the Acacia Seeds

British Art Fair is introducing a new section for digital art called PIVOTAL: Digitalism. It will present the very best digital art being created and exhibited in Britain today and will be a first for a UK art fair.

Very happy to be a part of this amazing project! Vävda rum (Woven Places) is a large scale AR exhibition featuring new work by 10 artists, displayed at thousands of locations over Sweden. 🔥🧚‍♂️🏺

The exhibition will open in May 2023, with the geographically biggest exhibition opening in history 🥂🥂🥂

Ulrika Flink, the project's curator, has written a really salient text on the theme of the exhibition (in Swedish): https://sverigeskonstforeningar.nu/virveln/kurator-ulrika-flink-om-tematiken-i-vavda-rum/

Machine translation:
" Our modern lives outside our homes, regardless of whether we live in the countryside, in a big city or in a smaller town, are often described in Swedish social debate as characterized by increased insecurity and polarization. In recent years, a description of an increasingly conflict-filled contemporary has gained ground. The public space is coded as a place where we have to overcome different obstacles, from the loss of common non-commercial spaces, to service that puts down different types of dangers when we move to and from school, the grocery store, the pharmacy or the gas station. But it is precisely on the street, on the playground or in the park that we meet outside of our own social constellations of friendship and family. It is in the public space that we have an opportunity to see each other. How can we, aware of all the movement that takes place in the public spaces that are created and remade in an age of accelerated privatization, mobility of people and things, maintain our curiosity, joy and willingness to rediscover the familiar together with others?

Last weekend we showed a prototype of Garden of Ghost Flowers at STRP festival in Eindhoven, an experential artwork that uses VR technology not to transport the visitors to a distant virtual world, but to make visible what is already present between them in the room.

Through using their voices the visitors bring a virtual entity to life, a Ghost Flower, growing from the vocal interactions of the group. Each visit is different, each group providing a unique biotope for the flower to grow in.

Thank you to everyone that came and experienced it, to all the volunteers that helped with all the crucial practicalities, and to the team at STRP who made this possible.

Today at we are doing Scenario #18 Infinite Conversations: a conversation with media philosopher Yuk Hui, , departing from the themes of our project Garden of Ghost Flowers. The talk is mediated by philosopher Miriam Rasch, and will be followed by a conversation i complete darkness.

This is a part of STRP's Scenario program, which hosts conversations with artists about how their work relate to technology, society and the individual. You can follow the talk with Yuk Hui and join the conversation in the dark from online. Link in bio.

Garden of Ghost Flowers is a trans-disciplinary and perennial artwork striving to find new perspectives on how technology can frame human relations, how physical bodies can inhabit virtual worlds, and on new forms of artificial life. We have been very inspired by Yuk Hui's thoughts in the development of this artwork, and are very grateful to get the chance to have a conversation with him about these topics.

Yuk Hui calls for a technodiversity, not diversity within technology but a diversity of technologies, as a response to the philosophical monoculture underpinning contemporary technology. In his own words, “Without technodiversity, we only have homogenous ways of dealing with nonhuman agencies and the world itself—as if homogeneous equals universal.” The Garden of Ghost Flowers is an attempt at finding other ways for technology to frame human relations, outside of the instrumentalised and controlled conceptions of tech that we are accustomed to.
