This bee made me laugh. It looks like it’s wearing a bright purple wig. It’s never uncool to be enthusiastic about what you do!

The Erasmusbrug holding still over the Nieuwe Maas at blue hour, the Zalmhaven tower lit up behind it. A long exposure smooths the water into a mirror.

It’s that time of year again...the ~8 week window where the setting summer sun aligns with Dordrecht’s Vrieseweg, flooding the street with a heavenly golden glow. It’s a spectacular sight—look for it on clear summer days within 1 month of solstice, between 21:00 and 22:00 in the evening.

A thin crescent moon hangs in a deep indigo sky above a lit stone bridge on the Amstel from Amsterdam’s Weesperbuurt, its arch reflected in perfectly still water below. The canal houses glow warmly in amber and white — stepped gables and tall windows mirroring in the dark canal surface — while bare-branched trees frame the upper corners of the composition. A houseboat moored to the left adds a domestic note to the otherworldly calm of a city that has gone quietly to sleep.

Scheveningen has a way of putting on a show. De Pier glowing pink over the water and one rare night the sky lit up with noctilucent clouds long after sunset. When I lived there, it was nonstop gorgeous!

I've gathered the best of that coastline into one collection of fine-art prints from the North Sea shore...our beach! See the full set here: https://www.alinzperspective.com/en/gallery/scheveningen-strand

An early morning farewell to the island of Pag,
where mountains meet the sea and the sky paints a
perfect picture. April 2021, a moment to remember.
