Out of confusion born into exploring ideas, all sort of ideas. This applies to my upbringing in a traditional christian family, I was a curious kid. My mom still says: ‘you always wanted to look behind the curtains’☺️
It made me a spiritual agnost in the end, the spiritual realm is the universal transcendent side to life.
What that exactly means, can differ a lot in where you are born, in what the cultural and/or spiritual traditions say, you were brought up with and of course what you did or didn’t do with that.
I am still enchanted by spirituality as in all I have looked into, I have encountered that human artistic expression can be linked to a certain sense of spirituality, at least, to me these fields are connected.
The mystery of ideas that pop up, for instance ☺️

Sometimes it takes a while, for this portrait, it took a year before it was finished. Of course in between other paintings I worked on it, but portraits are a special kind of paintings, without the likeness it has no value. So I felt some pressure as these are my kids ☺️ The painting is a gift for my husband.
