GETEKEND – een grootse theaterproductie over de TU Delft tijdens de tweede wereldoorlog. Studenten aan de TU Delft spelen zij aan zij met een cast van professionele acteurs (bekend van Soldaat van Oranje), de studenten van toen. Onder begeleiding van de Groover Big Band nemen wij je mee de jaren ’40 in. Van een studentenbal tot aan de loyaliteitsverklaring en verder. In ma
art 1943 worden alle studenten in heel Nederland geconfronteerd met de Duitse loyaliteitsverklaring. Wie door wil studeren moet zich eerst loyaal verklaren aan de bezetter. Wie weigert wordt direct de studie ontzegd en daarna zonder pardon naar Duitsland gestuurd voor dwangarbeid. De – toen nog – Technische Hogeschool kende van alle universiteiten en hogescholen in Nederland het hoogste aantal tekenaars, maar daarnaast was het ook de eerste stad waar het verzet van studenten opkwam. Deze bijzondere geschiedenis wordt nu eenmalig opnieuw tot leven gewekt op de plek waar het allemaal gebeurde: de TU Delft. De grote vraag is: Zou jij ‘m Getekend hebben en zou dit de rest van je leven hebben Getekend? Een unieke gebeurtenis waar je zeker bij moet zijn! Te zien van 19 tot 23 mei. 'GETEKEND' Theatrical production ('SIGNED' in English)
March 1943, students in the Netherlands are faced with the German declaration of loyalty. In order to study one has to declare loyalty to German regime. Those who object are immediately denied their study and deported to Germany for forced labour. This is a dilemma for many: to sign or not to sign? Of all universities in the Netherlands, the one in Delft (back then: Technische Hoogeschool) knew the highest number of signed declarations. This history is now once again brought to life in the place where it all happened: the TU Delft.
'Getekend' follows a group of fellow students facing difficult choices under pressuring circumstances. The choices affect friendships and question ideals. What if the good does not pay off? How far would you go for your study, your love, your fellow students and your homeland? And is signing a crime or an inevitability? Students and staff at TU Delft side by side with a cast of professional actors, portray the students from that time. Accompanied by Groover’s Big Band you will be taken back to the ‘40s. From a studentgala, to occupation and beyond. What would you do? A unique event to attend.
