☀️Vakantietijd - Terra Delft - Summertime ☀️
From July 18 to August 29, Terra Delft Gallery is only open on Saturdays, from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Wat was het een turbulent en bijzonder voorjaar in 2026, het jaar waarin wij ons 40-jarig jubileum vieren. Het absolute hoogtepunt vormden de tentoonstellingen in de Oude Kerk van Delft.
What a turbulent and special spring it was in 2026, the year we celebrate our 40th anniversary. The absolute highlight was the exhibitions in the Oude Kerk of Delft.

Wij danken iedereen hartelijk voor de enorme belangstelling, de betrokkenheid en alle medewerking waarmee we dit onvergetelijke jubileum samen hebben kunnen vieren.
We sincerely thank everyone for the tremendous interest, involvement, and cooperation that allowed us to celebrate this unforgettable anniversary together.

Tijdens onze vakantieperiode is onze uitgebreide vaste collectie keramiek te bezichtigen. Ook is een verkleinde presentatie van de tentoonstelling Common Ground in de galerie te zien.
During our holiday period, our extensive permanent collection of ceramics can be viewed. A smaller presentation of the exhibition Common Ground is also on display in the gallery.

Onze website is uiteraard altijd geopend. Vrijwel alle werken uit onze collectie zijn daar te bekijken en kunnen ook via de website worden aangeschaft.

Met keramiek verbeeldt zij de mondiale urgentie en gezamenlijke verantwoordelijkheid, en geeft zij op indringende wijze vorm aan verbinding en bewustwording binnen een kwetsbare wereld.
EN: We selected Mahala Hill for Common Ground because her work makes the impact of climate change and oceans suffocated by plastic palpable. Through ceramics, she gives form to global urgency and shared responsibility, powerfully expressing connection and awareness within a fragile world.

LiZhen is een van de 8 deelnemers aan deze wereldtentoonstelling.
LiZhen is one of the 8 participants in this world exhibition.

LiZhen kiest een eigen koers. In zijn studio in de beroemde Chinese keramiekstad Jingdezhen vervaardigt Li theepotten, vazen, schalen en kommen, voorzien van levendige decoraties, geïnspireerd op keramiek uit de Tang-dynastie. Zijn werk verbindt traditie en vernieuwing.
LiZhen follows his own path. In his studio in the renowened ceramic city of Jingdezhen, he produces teapots, vases, plates and bowls, all adorned with lively decorations inspired by ceranics from the Tang dynasty. His work connects tradition and innovation.

Mariëtte van der Ven is één van de acht deelnemers en vertegenwoordigd hier het continent Europa. Met haar indringende, figuratieve sculpturen verbindt zij persoonlijke en maatschappelijke thema's. Tegelijkertijd maakt zij de universaliteit van menselijke emoties voelbaar.

Mariëtte van der Ven is one of the eight participants and represents here the continent Europe. Her compelling figurative sculptures adds a strong conceptual dimension by connecting personal and societal themes. At the same time, she makes the universality of human emotions tangible.

Wij, de oprichters van Galerie Terra Delft, zijn trots en dankbaar dat we deze internationale tentoonstelling hebben kunnen realiseren. Vijf continenten met acht kunstenaars, alles in harmonie en elkaar versterkend.
We, the founders of Galerie Terra Delft, are proud and grateful that we were able to make this international exhibition happen. Five continents with eight artists, all in harmony and enhancing each other.

1986-2026: 40 jaar Galerie Terra Delft
Dit wordt t/m 4 juli 2026 gevierd in de galerie èn met twee tentoonstellingen in de Oude Kerk van Delft:
Common Ground & De Tafel van 40!

Op 23 mei 2026 vond de feestelijke opening plaats. Ruim 400 belangstellenden werden verwelkomd met een kopje koffie of thee en een typisch Common Ground-gebakje.

Tijdens de bijeenkomst waren er inspirerende toespraken van Nyncke Graafland-van den Berg (directeur Oude Kerk Delft), Stef Breukel (Stichting Keramiek Promotie Delft), Simone Haak (Galerie Terra Delft) en Ranti Tjan (professioneel kunstliefhebber en voormalig directeur van het EKWC).

Hun woorden waren bemoedigend, toekomstgericht en respectvol, en getuigden van grote waardering voor de hedendaagse keramiek en Galerie Terra Delft.

Hierbij een impressie van deze voor ons onvergetelijke dag. Wij danken iedereen hartelijk voor alle hulp, steun en de overweldigende belangstelling!

Expo: Common Ground - a world of ceramics
May 23 - July 4, 2026

For the world exhibition *Common Ground*, we (Galerie Terra Delft) bring together the work of eight leading ceramic artists from five continents. Through clay, they tell both personal and universal stories about humanity, nature, and connection. The participating artists come from Australia, China, India, Nigeria, the Netherlands, England, the United States, and Chile.

The central theme of the exhibition is **CONNECTION**. In a world increasingly marked by conflict and division, *Common Ground* highlights what unites us as people.

One of the featured artists is Keka Ruiz-Tagle as a connector, we make contact with her ancestors, the inhabitants of the Andes.
She wants them to resonate in her small ceramic sculptures. Each figure or fragments thereof bear the traces of alchemical processes: waxing, darkening, cracking. You can see from the earthy painterliness that Ruiz is a painter by training.
As a Chilean, Ruiz experiences a vital primal energy, called Kamaquen, which "ensures the reproduction of species." In this way, future, present, and past continuously merge into each other.
Apart from this Andean cosmogenic mysticism, Ruiz’s figures are also convincing as autonomous works.

Expo: Common Ground - a world of ceramics

For the world exhibition *Common Ground*, we (Galerie Terra Delft) bring together the work of eight leading ceramic artists from five continents. Through clay, they tell both personal and universal stories about humanity, nature, and connection. The participating artists come from Australia, China, India, Nigeria, the Netherlands, England, the United States, and Chile.

The central theme of the exhibition is **CONNECTION**. In a world increasingly marked by conflict and division, *Common Ground* highlights what unites us as people.

One of the featured artists is Prithwiraj Mali from India. He presents the impressive installation *Home for the Homeless*: a life-sized work composed of 5,000 ceramic elements, inspired by migration, compassion, and the idea that the world is one family.

Common Ground = sharing experience, friendship, food, firing, clay & glazes.
In Delft we shared this all last sunday whilst firing Keka Ruiz-Tagle's (Chili) sculpture name 'Common Ground'.
A great day with India (Prithwiraj Mali), Australia (Mahala Hill), China (Li Zhen) and Netherlands (Galerie Terra Delft Team/Clayground Studio). Sunshine, ceramics, food and friends...! 😍
