The Old-School Musical Foundation is a unique group of children and young adults who share a great passion for the theatre and aspire to become a professional artist. The aim is to develop their talent, drive and passion for the theatre as they strive towards a future in the national and international Performing Arts industry. The Foundation is directed by Sue Chaloner, who graduated successfully
at the Royal Academy of Dance, the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts (R.A.D.A.), the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, the Imperial Society of Teachers and Dance and the International Dancing Masters Association in England. Chaloner is, with 50-years of experience, one of the best in teaching the students to become a professional in the national and international Performing Arts industry. The students are guided in their talent development through individual attention and an academic teaching method. They are trained in the three disciplines dance, drama and singing. The English and American Broadway musicals and the work of William Shakespeare form the basis of the training, along with an international orientation, academic teaching method and individual attention regarding talent development. The students successfully move on to vocational training programmes or roll into the (inter)national Performing Arts industry. The students of the Old-School Musical Foundation are from different ages and backgrounds, and that is what makes us unique! The talent and passion of the students is what counts! Chaloner is dedicated to developing the student’s talent and skill. Her wide experience as an English artist serves as an incentive and stepping stone for the students to expand their horizons as they strive for a professional career in the (inter)national Performing Arts. De Old-School Musical Foundation is een unieke groep kinderen en jongvolwassenen die een grote passie en ambitie hebben voor het theater. De Foundation staat onder leiding van Sue Chaloner. Chaloner is met succes afgestudeerd aan de Royal Academy of Dance, de Royal Academy of Dramatic
Arts (R.A.D.A.), de Guidhall School of Music & Drama, de Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance en de International Dancing Masters Association in
Engeland. Ze biedt de leerlingen een goede basis voor een toekomstig, professionele carrière in het nationale en internationale theater. Met haar
vijftigjarige praktijkervaring is Chaloner als geen ander in staat het aanwezige talent te laten ontdekken en te ontwikkelen door de technische en mentale vaardigheden aan te leren die nodig zijn voor het beheersen van de disciplines van de Performing Arts, zoals de disciplines dans, zang en drama en voor het goed functioneren in de wereld van het theater. Deze expertise wil ze overdragen aan de volgende generatie. Op basis van een academische leermethode en individuele aandacht worden de leerlingen begeleid in hun talentontwikkeling en het beheersen van de drie disciplines. Binnen de disciplines worden verschillende technieken gedoceerd en vormen de Engelse en Amerikaanse Broadway musicals en het werk van William Shakespeare, naast de ambitie, passie en talent van de leerlingen, de
basiselementen. Met succes stromen de leerlingen door naar het hoger beroepsonderwijs in Nederland en in het buitenland. De leerlingen van de Old-School Musical Foundation zijn van verschillende leeftijden. Echter, leeftijd en achtergrond spelen geen rol: talent en passie wel! Chaloner zet zich met volle toewijding in voor de ontwikkeling van het talent en de passie van de leerlingen en wil dit graag aan de hand van voorstellingen en optredens tonen aan een groter publiek. Haar rijke ervaring als Engelse artieste is een grote drijfveer om de leerlingen een opstap te bieden en hun horizon te verbreden. WAAR WIJ VOOR STAAN
