Good morning EFABE people!
What a beautiful way to start the day with GREAT NEWS!
European Face & Body Art Event’s GOODY BAGS are on their way to you and will be arriving these days! Our wonderful sponsors invested lots of efforts and love in creating something SPECIAL for you! Svetlana Keller covered shipping costs for all packages and they will be carefully delivered on glitter dust clouds from the Netherlands straight to your door. How amazing is that?!
We hope that this little sign of appreciation will make you smile when thinking about our fantastic event!
EFABE has been an absolutely amazing convention, filled with lots of learning, laughing and having a wonderful time!
We are proud to say, that hundreds of students from all over the world have attended the event since its start in 2012. Dozens of most prominent instructors have shared their knowledge with all of us. EFABE market place has gathered leading make-up brands to showcase their products. Best locations, food and music made studying to an exclusive experience.

Our hearts are filled with gratitude, happiness and love, when we look back at the Face & Body Art Event in the Netherlands. It was an incredible time, which we will cherish forever! Thank you for being a part of it!

❌ Why is EFABE cancelled? ❌

The organization team of EFABE decided to cancel EFABE 2022. The possibility of organizing an event like EFABE in the future is unclear; nobody knows the development of the corona virus and the consequent safety measures (social distancing, mouth masks etc).

Moreover, organizing EFABE takes at least 10 months of preparation (and be aware, it was all done by volunteers) and given the unclear future we feel it is impossible to predict when EFABE could take place again.

Therefore the organization team also decided to stop; we will not take the initiative again to organize EFABE. This was a hard, but good decision. Although this is frustrating we do not see an alternative solution that does justice to the quality of the former EFABE events and the joy it brought to the students, instructors and us in the past.

Currently we are doing our best to end EFABE in an honest way given the budget limitations that were not changed during the past year, unfortunately.

We really appreciate the kind reactions of those who look back at one or more unique EFABE events and wish you all the best! 🙌🏼

First and foremost, we hope that you are all taking good care of yourselves in these difficult times, and that you’re faring well – preferably without sickness or other health issues. Look after yourselves, and try to look after others too.

We were absolutely devastated by the news that EFABE needed to be postponed. The government took over and cancelled for us. I’m sure we don’t have to explain how awful it is to say goodbye to an event that was so close to taking place and required preparation of a year and a half.
We would like to remind you that upon booking a ticket, you all agreed to our conditions. Please be aware that through these conditions, we can postpone our event and the refund is 0% in case of force majeure.
However, we thought it is unfair to stand by our conditions if a lot of students are obviously in need of a restitution. A full refund is unfortunately simply not possible due to financial obligations that the EFABE organization already had to deal with. Hotel, flights, bank costs, website and printing et cetera simply costed money, prior to the event. That means that currently only 70% of total of tickets sold and vendor contributions is available for a refund.
Of course it affects us to read and hear the stories of the students that have money troubles.
Unfortunately, although we acknowledge your, others’ and our own financial situation, there is nothing more we can offer than a 70% refund.
We very much appreciate that more than half of the students chose to keep their ticket for EFABE 2022 so far. But naturally, for the students that chose a 70% refund, we do not hold this decision against you. (Although to be honest, the distrust with which some of the students have reacted to our proposal hurts; the EFABE organization is a foundation based on a non-profit motive and the volunteers involved, including the board, do not get paid to do this.

Please let us know your choice before 1 May 2020, by clicking the link at the bottom of the email that you received.
The default choice is that your ticket stays valid for 2022 if you do not react before this time.
If you choose a refund you can expect it in May.

We believe that we did our best to deal with the current difficult situation, and we appreciate your understanding.

This weekend should have been the EFABE 2020 weekend. We feel so sad that after two years of preparation our event had to be postponed for obvious reasons. We hope that you all are safe and healthy. And we are sure we will meet again!

EFABE would have been very international. Only 38% of the participants were Dutch.

The other guests came from 16 different countries!
Australia, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Israel, Italy, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, United Kingdom and the USA!

Finally some good news!

Save the new date!! We have decided to postpone EFABE to 25-29 March 2021. Your tickets are still valid. Naturally we hope that you stay healthy in the meantime and we look forward to meeting you at EFABE 2021!

Dear EFABE fans,

Unfortunately but understandably, the Dutch government has decided earlier today that all events with more than 100 visitors are prohibited from taking place in the next two weeks, if not longer. As a result, we are left with no choice but to cancel EFABE 2020.
We understand that this is a big disappointment for you, as well as for the artists and volunteers. We hope that despite the bad news, we can all take this as encouragement to take care of our own health and that of the people around us.
We ask you to give us time to think through the consequences of the cancellation and how to deal with this setback. After the weekend we will get back to you.
