Make a butterfly plate with me 🦋

I used the Round Soft Edge pottery form and an old underglaze transfer I had lying around (no idea where this one came from anymore).

The technique to make the plate is simple: make a slab of clay, drape it over the mould, form it to shape, and let it dry to leather hard. Then remove it, decorate, and fire.

I honestly think she turned out beautiful — soft, a little vintage, and full of character. Such a lovely way to give new life to forgotten transfers.

If you want to try making your own plates or platters, I really recommend working with wooden drape moulds from .forms.europe — they give such an elegant, organic shape.
