Some memories never soften — they simply wait.
Years pass, life shifts, but a fragment of the past still knows how to speak to us.

This blue bed began as a quiet memory from childhood…
and somehow it continues to guide my hand today.

What Holds, What Breaks is a return to the things that shaped me,
and the courage it takes to face them again — one small step at a time.

Which memory still lives in you, even after all these years?

When you know your work has a purpose, everything changes.
It’s no longer just about lines on paper or shading a portrait, it becomes a dialogue between you and the world. Every sketch carries a story, every experiment holds a lesson, and every attempt, whether it succeeds or fails, adds to the bigger picture of growth.

I’ve learned that art isn’t about sticking to one method or chasing perfection. It’s about daring to try, embracing the unknown, and trusting that even in the messiness, something meaningful will emerge. That’s where the joy lives, inside the process, inside the risk, inside the discovery.

What my work is really about.

My new body of work What Holds, What Breaks was born from a memory —
the quiet years when I used to hide my drawings under my childhood bed.

Back then, silence felt like safety.
Now, I realize it was also a weight — shaping me,
teaching me how to hold what hurts and how to find beauty in what breaks.

This series is about that fragile space between comfort and constraint,
where tenderness and endurance coexist.

We all have something that once protected us,
but now we’re learning to release.

The process is never about control, it’s about trust.
Trusting the gesture, the accident, the silence between layers.
In what holds, what breaks, I keep learning that patience isn’t waiting,
it’s listening, until the work begins to speak back.

It held what the world didn’t want to see, my first act of quiet resistance.

My childhood bed was made of wood, not blue.
But I’ve learned that color can tell the truth that memory can’t.

Blue became a language for everything that held me,
safety, silence, endurance.

This work belongs to What Holds, What Breaks,
a study of how protection can become pressure,
and how we keep finding ways to breathe beneath it.
