H Y M N I
I have a thing with music when a simple chord is struck and then melts into the next—one flowing seamlessly into the other. That’s exactly how I paint too: the first stroke melts into the next, and the pattern that appears feels like the music made visible.
I’m creating a physical landscape from a musical journey. In this case, “Hymn I” by David August pulled me into a state I could barely escape—sucked me in and didn’t let go. It felt deep… and deep is what came out: intense dark reds, pinks, and purples.
