THE ONE DAY COLLECTIVE | 01.10.2018
The One Day Collective is back from a long long vacation!
We are invited by Spring House to work with their creative brained members. We will form two collectives of 3 hours. The first group starts a project and the second group will take it over and finish it. The theme of the evening program is COLLABORATION. All focus on collaboration and experimenting!
The work will be presented between 16.00- 20.00 at the Spring House Birthday party: 3 Years of Collaboration. Be welcome to see the result and have a drink and a bite.

''LACK' of' is the result of an one day collaboration between Floris van Driel & Eline Michèle for Kennisland around the topic inequality in the housing market of Amsterdam.

As an introduction to talks on inequality in the city, the space
of this lecture has been metaphorically transformed into a miniature version of various social hierarchies that are visible within the city.

Some of the audience had to stand, some could sit on a comfortable vintage lounge chair and others only got an iconic Ikea ‘Lack’ table to stand on.

Floris van Driel is a designer, researcher, art-director, organizer and human being from the Netherlands currently based in Amsterdam.

His interests lie in new narratives for collectivity and togetherness researching time, labor, precarity, and liberation from a perpetual present. Also organizer and co-founder of the Quicksand lecture and dinner series proposing strategies for possible politicalism within art & design.

Morgen zal the one day collective in opdracht voor Kennisland aan de slag gaan met het thema wonen in Amsterdam. De druk op de woningmarkt is de laatste jaren flink toegenomen. Wonen in Amsterdam wordt steeds duurder, wat voor meer ongelijkheid zorgt. Is er sprake van een nieuwe stedelijke crisis?

Ik werk morgen samen met ontwerper, researcher, art-director, organizer -en daarnaast ook gewoon mens- Floris van Driel de hele dag bij Spring House. Om 09:00u worden we gebriefd door Kennisland met de casus. Om 17:00u presenteren we ons werk tijdens het programma Out of Office. Wees welkom om te luisteren, praten, drinken. Ons werkproces is ook open voor publiek!

Door het succes van vele grote steden is de afgelopen jaren de druk op de woningmarkt toegenomen. Wonen in de stad is fors duurder geworden en de ongelijkheid groeide. Mickey Yang represents her personal history the displaced persons of the 21st century. She has no native language or dominant cultural identity. To be able to communicate she used the language of things. She works on her own encyclopedia that gives knowledge and insights to create an alternative identity.

Mirelle Versteeg welcomes you to her institutional dinner, inviting both friends and colleagues, in order to mix up two systems.

In her work she creates a slightly absurd mixture of two very different worlds: the world of the arts, with its institutional character, and that of living with friends and family, with its domestic character. She uses the basic and effective method of changing a context to establish awareness towards the institutional structures in the domain.

Josephine Goverts is in 2015 afgestudeerd aan de Fashion Design departement aan ArtEZ in Arnhem. Met haar afstudeer collectie “Carlton” won ze de Frans Molenaar couture prize.
Haar collecties komen vaak tot stand vanuit herinnering, verhalen, kunst en architectuur. Ze is altijd opzoek naar een nieuwe interessante compositie met kleur, materiaal en vorm.
In de afgelopen twee jaar heeft ze gewerkt voor Paco Rabanne en Acne Studios.
