The Netherlands’ premiere collector of pinball machines Dieter van Es brings his private collection for extended public play for the first time anywhere. Admission to Flipperland! includes unlimited play on museum games. Boom Chicago is proud to host this exciting event in the heart of
Amsterdam. Bar 117 is open during museum hours and serves a full range of beer, wine, cocktails, coffees, juices and snacks. Restaurants and the gezelligheid of the Jordaan are steps away. Why not make a day of it? Boom Chicago’s founder Andrew Moskos has selected the best and most fun flipperkasten and curates the collection. He has written the background, the context and an explanation for each game. All great game developers are represented in the selections with special attention for Steve Ritchie who is represented with multiple games. Pinball’s greatest designer is still creating and innovating after 30 years in the business. All the major pinball eras are represented in Flipperland! The collection runs from the beginning of the modern era in the 1960’s through pinball renaissance of the 90s and the rebirth in the year 2000s. Play the landmark games that were first with speech (Gorgar), the first with complete music and a story (High Speed), and the first with multiball (Fire Power). The modern era includes diverse themes like the Terminator, Arabian Nights, and World Cup Soccer
Downstairs in the bar, enjoy state-of-the-art pinball from 2014-5. These three games, (Star Trek, The Walking Dead, and Wizard of Oz) are not part of the museum and are priced for coin play. For Flipperland!, these games are set to four balls per game instead of the usual three.
