More of the story below 👇
Ive believed finding good in the bad for a long time. I used that "helping tool" for a long time.
When my mom passed away 2 years ago, I felt like that tool was broken and I should throw it away.
I learned that when the wound is so big and fresh, that tool doesnt fix anything yet. It just stabs and feels wrong.
But after some time grieving, I automatically would seek the tool again and reflect on the last few months.
I saw what a strong and caring person I was in that dark time. I learned that I can trust myself to find a switch when needed and that I can rely on myself.
My mom would've been proud of me.
It also changed how I saw life, for better and for worse.
I also connected me to people who've also suffered loss.
It taught me how to be there for people who've suffered a loss.
It also taught me what I would do differently if someone close was in mental distress.
I learned a lot.
It doesnt make my moms death okay. It doesnt make it any better.
But it helps to focus on the good.
Thanks for reading, take care of yourself ❤️
