Dear friends, I am showing new works at Unfair Amsterdam from this Thursday to Sunday. For my on-going series “Anatomy of Obstruction”, I developed different formats, from drawings in my studio, to wallpaper at Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam , then to banners suspending in De Fabriek Eindhoven . And this time I made collages with the drawings, layered and elevated, creating some theatrical depths! It is a challenging project because it’s a completely new medium for me. But it’s always exciting to try new mediums and experiment with all kinds of extensions from the same subjects.

Special thanks to .nl who made the beautiful frames, Vincent Wong who assisted me with the craft and Tingyi who helped in the buildup 🩵

I am also selling riso posters for the same series at Unfair Editions . Next to this, I am also your bartender at “Art Bar” organised by SEXYLAND WORLD at Unfair. Come by this weekend, buy art get drunk!!

Last month I made 5 drawings of gouache and pastel, each 3 meters long, to be suspended in the body of De Fabriek Eindhoven . This is an adaptation of “Anatomy of Obstruction”, the series I developed for Stedelijk. This time I want to instead inhabit the factory, and to treat the static surfaces of drawings as scenography, as an environment where I can perform in. The factory is an echo machine. It produces so much reverb and a fantasy that I can sing. Here, my body feels so small while my voice grows so big. Hopefully I can pull off a new performance 🤔 to be seen on October 2nd, on the finissage of this exhibition.

For this residency where 3 of us developed works on site, and for the exhibition, Yin Yin Wong wrote a beautiful article “From the Belly”. Hope I can share it with you all soon.

Thank you for coming to the opening of “Anatomy of Obstruction”, the exhibition as the seventh edition of Post/No/Bills, a series showcasing new design and art along the central corridor of Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam curated by Thomas Castro.

It’s my first solo exhibition, and it’s in stedelijk! And it’s the first time ever I needed to make such big works — not something to hang on a wall, not anything shown on a stage for a night — but massive, architectural, central, and long-standing. There have been a lot of challenges and excitement, but I am most thankful for the trust from Thomas and the Stedelijk team.

I am more than lucky to have so many friends, colleagues, and my teachers showing up that night. It’s so nice to see designers and artists mingle and the seemingly separate worlds are actually one.

I just want you all to know that on top of everything I feel, I am HAPPY, when I make art! Wish we all stay well and connected. Hit me up when you wanna come by stedelijk and let’s hang out under the 💋fleshy interiors💋….

Dear friends, I’d love to invite you to my exhibition at Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam , on view from August 19 to April 2027. This year I made a new work for their Post/No/Bills series curated by Thomas Castro. I feel very honoured to have the opportunity to work with this 120 m² wall surface along the main corridor surrounding the museum’s central staircase.

Anatomy of Obstruction

Lungs, kidneys, liver, stomach, and intestines fill the seven niches in the corridor. Inspired by anatomical illustrations and organisational diagrams, the work explores the overlap between organisms and organisations. Enlarged hand-drawn organs merge stony façade with fleshy interior, transforming the museum’s historic staircase into a human body. The organs become metaphors for institutional systems of filtration, regulation and legitimation, while common disorders like reflux, gallstones, and constipation become forms of resistance and dissent. What belongs to the body and what is treated as foreign? Is the system external, or are we part of it?

Nest is open throughout the summer holidays for those of all ages remaining in the city! In the exhibition Outof Office (Still Here), 13 artists explore the concept of ‘leisure’. Opening my studio this weekend for .open and showing my puppet stage as a video installation, all original drawings from last year, and selling the riso calendar with a special discount from €48 to €40 🤓

Beginning this year I moved my studio to . I feel blessed to have such a central and spacious atelier with enough stability. I can’t stop making stuff!

Also feeling blessed with lovely studio members around. This weekend you check out the studios of 7 other artists here at Prinsegracht 64.

I am happy to share some snippets of the documentation of “Revolution is a Dinner Party” filmed by dear Erfan Abdi .

Built in 1691, The Theatrum Anatomicum was the site where leading members of the surgeon’s guild conducted dissections to advance medical knowledge. Over time, these events became public occasions where people could witness the unveiling of the human body.

I am honoured to connect my work to this space dedicated to anatomy and corporeality, as my performance deals with the metaphorical anatomy of the human body and its entanglement with waste, vermin, and thresholds of the self.

Full registration will be shown together with the puppet stage, the rat, and the sparrow, as an on-going video installation at the open studio event .open on April 18 & 19. Come by at my studio to have a look!

Last Friday the exhibition and book launch 2025 opened at with my performance - a silverfish and a rat, debating about archives, appetite, and love, cry on each other’s shoulders. Thank you for giving the opening speech and for the Q&A session with the 2 characters 👯🖇️

The exhibition goes on till April 12. Please go and have a look of the original drawings and buy the publication! 14 pages, 12 of them full colour riso to decorate your wall each month and remind you of an original The-Hague story!
