This July, a new iteration of Actualization will be presented at the Dark Rooms Exhibition in Berlin. Together with our dear friend , we’re revisiting the composition and creating a new sonic narrative.

The Actualization series weaves tension between mind and space, revealing how meaning emerges and reality takes form through the patterns we choose to believe.

Drawing from the Aristotelian notion of potentiality and actuality, the series places these ideas in a contemporary context. It reflects on the moment when possibility becomes experience. The installation invites us to meditate on a simple motion, that is juxtaposed by sounds and recordings that narrate impossible, almost fictional events. In a sense, there is nothing more real than matter moving in front of us.

Futurism in motion. What we see has no function other than allowing us to imagine the impossible.

Thanks & for the invitation to bring this work back to life.

Proximare (Latin): to come or draw near, to approach, be near

A system caught in a continuous cycle of approach and separation. Drawn together, held apart, orbiting each other without collision.

Light sources fall and climb in altitude, circling around the balcony. The sources in both rings affect each other. Sometimes they attract, sometimes they repel. Relative distance is their common language, creating a sonic narrative of endless approach.

Proximare premiered at Mapping Festival () in Genève and is on view at the Musée d’Art et d’Histoire ()until May 28.

For Milan Design Week, .world curated an exhibition and talks program at exploring how contemporary architectural design shapes live experiences, featuring our stage designs for Draaimolen Festival: Aura (2024) and The Tunnel (2023). Both stages emerged from our artistic research project Entropy.

Entropy is an analogue particle simulator exploring transformation and movement in space. The 4-meter transparent structures contain a system that converts liquid into gas, creating formations that resemble clouds and climate systems. Through Entropy, we challenge perceptions of order and control through the aesthetics of disorder, while reflecting on our desire to create systems, rituals and spaces that resist them, even if only temporarily.

That same tension exists within festivals themselves: temporary architectures built for collective moments, only to disappear again.

We’re grateful to see our work included in this dialogue and we can’t wait to share our plans for this year’s edition of .

Our collaboration with ZeeZout traces back to 2019, when we created the first custom LED fixtures for Liberté Liberté at Lofi. Since then, it has taken more than one form, across more than one stage.

Early editions were defined by circular, organic forms, while more linear structures gradually emerged; from Polynode in different orientations to the columns presented at ADE Concertgebouw. These directions developed alongside each other until the last edition at , where they came together in one large rectangular form: the linearity of the columns meeting the sweep of the circle. Fluid and structural, within one system.

At the core of our practice is a growing ecosystem of instruments. Nothing is fixed. Each project adds, adjusts, and extends what is already there.

The next iteration is already in motion.

Polynode: Echo

Twelve suspended squares hold a quiet, weightless tension. Light moves through these rectangular islands, appearing and disappearing, shaping anticipation.

Through distance, the space expands. What was once connected now unfolds across the room, creating rhythm, delay and echo.

When reached out to us to create something special for MASONICS at .amsterdam, we were immediately in.

We first connected at Voodoo Village in 2025, where he performed at The Shelter stage. A contemporary Stonehenge for today’s rituals.
Patrick doesn’t just play music. He occupies space. He stretches it, commands it, breaks it open. For his label night, we wanted the space to answer back.

Together with , we developed a motion-reactive system using gloves. It allowed us to track subtle finger movements and gestures but also position and acceleration of the hands. We used this data in to control the patterns for the LED lines in real-time.

Movements extended into space, his dance became architecture.

The premiere of Our Liminal Space by TLM

For this night TLM asked us to develop a custom light object for the iconic venue of Paradiso. The starting point was the idea of a liminal space: a threshold between states, between stillness and movement, between individual and collective.

This signifier marks the beginning of a shared visual language. We’re excited to continue developing this together.

During Contrarium in January, we introduced something new: our first Lumus merch.
A small batch of scarves and T-shirts.

The scarves sold out quickly, but a handful of T-shirts have now made their way to the shop at Nxt Museum ().

If you swing by, take a moment to check out the exhibition as well, featuring POLYNODE XI.

On the final night of Contrarium, observation turned into participation.

After last year’s edition, Lofi came up with the idea to expand the format into a full-blown club night. Their enthusiasm pushed the idea forward, and we’re glad we followed through. We know the club inside-out, but seeing it in action that night felt like stepping into a completely different place. It sparked new inspiration and energy.

The same spatial framework opened up to movement. What had been a contained perceptual study became an active environment. Sound and light operated live from the center, surrounded by a dancing crowd.

The installation no longer functioned purely as an object of attention, but as a shared environment the audience could freely inhabit. The dedication from everyone involved, artists, crew and crowd, exceeded all our expectations.

A special thanks to Dasha Rush, Spekki Webu and Shoal for jumping into this experiment with us. We loved hearing afterwards how much they enjoyed it too. Contrarium is not only for the audience, but just as much for the artists. A space to try things, stretch ideas and see where it takes us.

More to come.

2025 – a year in retrospect

From large scale scenographies, to art installations and custom club lighting. 2025 pushed us to explore new creative and technical boundaries.

Throughout the year we worked across festivals, clubs, exhibtions and castles, delivering live AV/ light shows, installations and new fixture designs.

Thank you to all the partners, venues and our own crew. We’re excited what 2026 is going to bring us!
