Everyone runs focused on the self. We trade our humanity for commodities, trying everyday to optimize our happiness. We, people, have plenty of labels like ingredients on a product laying on a shelf ready to be consumed. The expiration date is subjective to the consumer. Crisis are popping up like cold sores but we are too busy blinded by daily life seeking individual happiness.🙂💀

This is an artwork I made for the sketchbook project of the .dam that I recently joined.

"Meat, guts, muscles exposed to the air without the skin to protect them. Some want to slither back to the depths others to reach out to the light squeezing through the tension of the sliding mass. Every muscle fiber acts on its own will, blindly sensing each other through touch, stroked and pressed from all angles until they get to the surface of the moving ocean of bodies."

“Smiley”

I made this artwork for the Aeons Art Festival. You can find the submission on my X profile, S_BordignonArt, which I opened specifically for the event. Give it love and a share if you are on X.

I have been playing around with this idea for a while, combining a smiley with my movement/muscles motif. These smileys are stretched out and intertwined in an overexaggerated o**y of happiness. The skulls might ruin the party for some while being completely normal for others. Life and Death. As I see it, your life happens only once, it ends with death, an infinite time of non-existence. We play at the table of life with the cards given to us. Better play it by being yourself, enjoying what gives you a real purpose. You are the only one knowing what it feels like being under your skin. Live life pursuing what brings you joy, in the meanwhile aim to bring joy to every other “unique one-time-only existence” that intertwines with yours.

“Muscoli Alabastrini”

I started working on this sculpture in the winter of 2019. At the time I was living in Hilversum, there I met Giel Clijsters, Dutch sculptor, and started sculpting on and off in his studio. It took me more than 160 hours to realize this artwork , I finished it in September 2023.

I sold it a month ago to a collector in the Philippines. I met him while working as a bartender, somewhere at the beginning of 2019. I used to show my sketchbook to every person at the bar who was interested in my story, and he really liked my work. He introduced me to his daughter, now a really good friend of mine. She kept us in contact, printed my first business cards, made and edited videos for my socials and kept showing him my progress as an artist. Thanks to those little gestures and some hard work now my baby is in Manila.
