Hailing from Utrecht, The Netherlands - Arno was literally raised in the movie theatre and always aspired to work with film himself someday. Growing up during the evolution of exciting new media technologies, he self-taught himself everything he knows with the help of internet and software. Starting small with animations and (in)game videos while later moving on to short films, street repo's and a

fter-movies, he quickly started his own multimedia business in 2010 (Careface). He now works as an independent filmmaker, overseeing the directing, filming and editing of all his productions himself.

Def Rhymz - Rapper met een Hart

Vorig jaar zijn wij (Newish Media) samen met Def Rhymz begonnen aan een documentaire over zijn leven en zijn hoop op een donorhart. Helaas moesten we dit jaar onverwacht afscheid van hem nemen. Ondanks het verdriet bleef zijn droom om zijn verhaal met de wereld te delen leven, en we hebben ons best gedaan om zijn leven en impact zo goed mogelijk vast te leggen.

Def Rhymz, geboren als Dennis Bouman, was een iconische figuur in de Nederlandse hiphopscene. Met energieke nummers als Doekoe en Schudden bracht hij het publiek massaal aan het dansen. Achter zijn vrolijke imago gingen echter ook persoonlijke uitdagingen schuil. De documentaire belicht zowel de hoogtepunten van zijn carrière als zijn strijd tegen hartfalen.

In de film delen familieleden, vrienden en collega’s zoals Ronnie Flex, Kees de Koning, Brace en Wolter Kroes hun herinneringen aan Def Rhymz.

Het was een eer om dit unieke en intieme verhaal vast te leggen. Dank aan ITV voor de samenwerking en Videoland voor het platform en de steun. Morgen, 30 oktober, is de documentaire exclusief te zien op Videoland.
