Take a full spin around "Morning Glory" 🌀
A free-standing sculpture covered in intensely pink barnacles, with Swedish oyster shells and black lightning dove shells on the back. It'll make a statement, not just in the morning... We promise!
80 x 133 cm (31" x 52") incl. base

While "Black Holes" was on our work table, the whole world was talking about the first photo ever taken of a black hole. So, probably subconsciously, we started lining the inside of the barnacles with black lava sand… and there they were, the mystery dark holes 🐚🕳️
A big, off-white Shellman signature mirror, dense and rich in details: barnacles, nautilus, spider conch, murex, Swedish oysters and much more. "Majestic", one studio visitor said.

Creating a shell frame, one shell at a time 🐚
The big shells set the shape and color nuance, the small ones bring diversity and the tiny ones fill every gap. Our rule: if you can still see the frame base through gaps between the shells, we're not done yet. We like them densely packed.
How many shells do you think go into one mirror? 👇

Swipe to see where these details live 👉
Our dentist wanted something new in the waiting room to catch her patients' attention. Our proposal: a big rectangular mirror. The idea of having small white shells flow between the darker "peninsulas" came out of nowhere, and when done it looked like white water running through a landscape and over the edge.
"White Rivers" – St James scallops, banana shells, leafy carditas, frilly basket clams, cone shells, murex, sea urchin spines and many, many more.
Would this shell mirror calm you down in the waiting room? 😉

It's all in the details, and in the contrasts 🖤🤍
"Black & White" – the white shells create a frame within the frame, surrounded by dark beauties from sea and beach, a few seed pods and some unusual stones.

Monday in the studio: the big ones are out 🐚
Before a single shell is glued, all the big shells are laid out to a first check. Conchs, scallops and clams get turned, tested and turned again until each one finds its place for a balanced end result.

8,000 seashells, 40 hours of work, and yes, you can actually ride it 🐚🚲

The bike can be found somewhere around the Amsterdam city center, did you find it? Tag us In Your picture! ✨

Every shell placed by hand. What should we cover in shells next? 👇
