workshop with Lodi Deal on 14th January 2023

Join us for a workshop and a shared moment of research with visiting artist, Dodi Leal, a tr****ti performer, curator, researcher and the first trans professor of the arts based in Bahia, Brazil. Dodi is the author of Performatividade transgênera (“Transgender Performativity”) and Teatra da Oprimida (“Theatre of the Oppressed” written from a transfeminist perspective), but the focus of the workshop on will be LUZVESTI, which explores how theatre light contributes to gendered surfaces and textures on stage.

ATD Research Month 2023 is about to begin! 12 wonderful events happening across January 2023, including talks, workshops and screenings exhibitions with brilliant international guests including Thomas Talawa Prestø, and Dodi Leal – co-imagined by students in the Bachelor and Master programmes, the study programmes, the research groups and other partners, in collaboration with the ATD Lectorate - DAS Research.

IPOP is facilitating two sessions on conceptual collective reading practices with DAS Choreography and ATD Bibliotheek and supports SNDO student Alex Blum in hosting Dodi Leal, a tr****ti performer, curator, researcher and the first trans professor to research in Bahia, Brazil.

IPOP is thrilled to announce we are launching another round of Q***r Feedback Sessions in the Winter/Spring 2023.

Q***r Feedback Sessions is a seven-week artistic research project exploring theories and methodologies of q***ring performance feedback while providing a chance for artists to receive feedback on current projects. This opportunity is open to students, staff and alumni of the ATD as well as community members with an interest in q***r art making. €200 honorarium for participants. .

IPOP's "Q***ring Artistic Feedback” publication is out! We had a great pleasure to be hosted at the Academie voor Theater en Dans Bibliotheek and take part in an event as part of Researchers Office public program. We’re pleased to have presented this new publication to our peers and fellow educators and researchers.

The culmination of our year-long project In Pursuit of Otherwise Possibilities (IPOP) is coming up this week 11 & 12 May in the form of a two-day symposium. I'm super excited for this q***r world-building gathering, the talks, workshops, movies and dance parties. Full program in the images + PDF in the QR.

It’s been a joy to develop the pilot edition of q***r performance pedagogy and feedback learning program with Elioa Steffen. It is hosted at the Academy of Dance and Theatre in Amsterdam, funded by Quality Funds, DAS Research and Diversity and Inclusion Platform.
