A fictional tech company that goes by the name of Slop Inc. tries to maintain the attention of their users for as long as possible by presenting them an endless stream of content on their social media platform called ‘Slopmedia’. When an unsuspecting user loses access to the platform, Slop Inc. tries to win back his attention in an absurd way, eventually revealing the true intentions of the company.

🚨 DEADLINE: SEPTEMBER 6 🚨
Only 2 days left to submit your short film.

Submissions close September 6 for the films screening in our October sessions.

Selected films are screened in Amsterdam in front of audiences and become part of our Official Competition. Films nominated for Best Film of the Year also join the Shortcutz International Audience Award, bringing their work to audiences in more than 20 cities around the world.

The films in this carousel are just some of the projects that have previously been part of the Shortcutz Official Competition. Yours could be next.

Before submitting, please read our rules carefully and make sure your film is eligible.

🎬 Greenlight goes into production.

Last week, Femke’s Final Complaint became the first of our three selected Greenlight projects to be shot.

From pitch to preparation and now to set, it’s exciting to see the first film from this new programme becoming a reality.

A huge congratulations to Kanso Oğbolu and the entire team behind Femke’s Final Complaint for completing the shoot. The film now moves into post-production, while AERF and On the Volcano are getting ready to shoot soon.

And this is only the beginning.
