Raina Lee in Paris

Marian Cramer Projects is delighted to return to 80 Rue de Turenne for the fifth time, presenting a special group exhibition during the week of Art Basel Paris, in the heart of the Marais art district.

Among the artists presented is Raina Lee, whose ceramic works move between painting, sculpture and the traditions of ceramics. Working on flat stoneware slabs, Lee creates richly layered compositions through colour, texture and self-developed glazes.

Victor Hugo House, Chinese Room (2026) was inspired by Lee’s visit to the Maison de Victor Hugo in Paris. Architectural details and decorative elements are translated into a tactile composition, where the unpredictability of the ceramic process becomes part of the work itself.

Lotte Keijzer - ‘Oracle of Uncertainty’

There is something about this painting that keeps drawing me back. A shower, birds in flight, a sky-red ground — an ordinary moment made slightly strange, almost dreamlike.
Oracle of Uncertainty captures that feeling of not quite knowing what comes next. The shower becomes a kind of ritual: a moment of pause, while the birds move freely through it all. I love the tension between the humour and the uncertainty in this work; it feels light, but there is something deeper underneath.

A painting that, for me, says: we don’t always need to know where we are going. Sometimes we just keep moving.

Marian Cramer Projects & ARJEN
— Crazy Little Things

Known for his innovative approach to figurative painting, ARJEN pushes the boundaries of anatomical representation by deconstructing and reassembling the human body into surreal and intriguing compositions.

His latest works, Crazy Little Things, bring together recognizable yet distorted elements, creating figures that feel at once unsettling and harmonious. Unexpected details and playful distortions invite us to look at the human form differently, questioning its familiar conventions while exploring a distinctive visual language.

We are delighted to present ARJEN’s newest works at 80 Rue de Turenne during the week of Art Basel Paris, as part of our fifth presentation in the heart of the Marais.

“Doing your best doesn’t mean doing everything perfectly. It means continuing, even when things don’t go according to plan.”

“I was born a non-worrier.” -Lotte Keijzer

Lotte Keijzer’s paintings bring together humour, observation and a distinctive use of colour. Through a graphically precise visual language and richly layered surfaces, she explores the tension between control and surrender, the everyday and the absurd.

Her work is playful and immediate, while touching on broader themes of resilience, imperfection and our ongoing attempt to navigate the world around us.

Keijzer lives and works in Haarlem, NL.

‘ I’m Doing My Best, Honey’
Opening Saturday 5 September, 5–7 PM

Marian Cramer Projects is delighted to invite you to the opening of ‘I’m Doing My Best, Honey’, a solo exhibition by Dutch painter Lotte Keijzer.

Keijzer’s paintings transform ordinary objects and everyday situations into reflections on resilience, care and the acceptance of uncertainty. Entirely painted freehand, the works balance graphic precision with richly textured surfaces, revealing traces of process and imperfection upon closer inspection.

In this new body of work, garden tools, drifting birds, towering waves and seemingly insignificant moments become visual metaphors for perseverance and the simple courage of continuing when life refuses to unfold according to plan.
