Afrovibes

Afrovibes Afrovbes Festival 2021 will take place from 28 Sept until 10 Oct 2021 in Amsterdam, Rotterdam and Utrecht. And of course the joy of a festival.

Afrovibes programmes topical African performing arts productions and organises an annual festival in the Netherlands. Afrovibes promotes the exchange between contemporary Dutch and African artists and theatre makers as well as the interaction with audiences who take an interest in this. Afrovibes brings closer not just contemporary dance, theatre, spoken word and music from the African continent, but also the context and the discourse of these productions.

Flourent will be performing twice at the festival. Once in AMsterdam, and once in Rotterdam.

On stage, beer crates, symbols of consumption and alienation, are constantly transformed and given new meaning. They become shelters, rhythm instruments, building blocks and places of encounter. With perseverance, humour and ingenuity, the dancers move through a world that imposes limits, while imagination continues to open up new possibilities. Through resilience, creativity and the power of dance, they discover new ways of living in today’s world.

Accessibility: This performance contains energetic choreography, physical intensity and loud musical moments. Duration: 50 minutes
