BASE NOIR; identify and express yourself. THE party, with music combined for savvy Classic House lovers, the House Dance crazed and the young and funky. In short, a synergy of the old and the new. Conceptualized originally in 2009 as Chateau Noir by DJ Momo DL. A party with a strong focus on 90's House Music. This was before the retro House sound fully exploded and became predominant in the Europe
an Deep House/Tech scene. Around the same time more young urban dancers started to get into dancing to House Music and also many 90's Hip hop and R&B parties started to rise from the ground. Those happenings influenced a new party concept to showcase a different sound that you might not hear in most (Dutch) clubs. From that early sketch it was later sharpened and changed into BASE NOIR. A more simple name and loosely based on the group name Bas Noir; a New Jersey based House duo who had a hit in the UK called My Love Is Magic. A record released in the year 1988, a year by many also nicknamed as the second summer of love, coinciding with the explosion of House music as a result. We all know how big it became in the years after. Finally in 2012, BASE NOIR was launched in a venue called Toko MC/MC Theater together with the celebration of 25 years of DJ experience of Cassie 6 (see photos)
If you love the soulful and warm sound of New Jersey House, this is the party for you. If you love the classic sounds of Masters of Work, Todd Terry, MK, Steve "Silk" Hurley, David Morales, Kerri Chandler, Pal Joey etc. this is definitely the party for you. If you're more into the Chicago House sound from the likes of Larry Heard, Lil Louis, DJ Pierre, have no worries, so are we. The new breed of House producers like Argy, Maya Jane Coles, KiNK, Martinez Brothers etc. yes we endorse that sound. Put that together with an evening warm up or early morning cool down of Soul, Boogie and Classic Hip hop tunes and you have BASE NOIR. So c'mon, let's work it to the bone!
