🐺 Kaboom Anime: Wolf Children 🐺

Arguably the greatest animated film about motherhood and single parenting, Wolf Children imagines what it would be like to have a lupine lover (go Team Jacob!), have children, and raise them all by yourself.

The director behind modern anime classics like The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, Summer Wars, and Belle slows the rhythm down for a richly told slice-of-life story with folkloric wonder. ✨

💛 Day 10 💛

The final day brought two animation queens together, featured 50 musicians performing in harmony, and wrapped up with an animation pub quiz where teams of six competed for victory, and an analogue bag.

As our beloved festival comes to an end, the vibes are a mix of joy, pride, and a touch of bittersweet heartbreak. Kaboom 2026 was cosy, crafty, and full of human connection. Over the past 10 days, we’ve shared powerful stories, witnessed beautiful visuals, and experienced moments that surprised, moved, and connected us. To everyone who laughed, cried, danced, discussed, crafted, and celebrated with us: thank you. See you in Kaboom 2027! 💘

🧦 Day 9 🧦What a day, what a night, what a festival! For the past 8 days, short animations from around the world competed for the spotlight. Last night, the moment finally arrived: the winners were revealed, and the awards found their rightful owners. A huge thank you to all the jury members and animators who joined us and made the 2026 edition of the festival so special. Earlier in the day, EYE got taken over by beautiful hand-made sock puppets that came alive during the It’s Alive show. And then…the party. Let’s just say: the dance floor was on fire. 🔥📸 Jaime Korbee
