Peter Somuah Group - Keep an Eye Foundation

De getalenteerde jazztrompetist Peter Somuah is afkomstig uit Ghana. Door eindeloos te luisteren naar zijn favoriete trompethelden zoals Roy Hargrove en Miles Davis leerde hij zijn instrument tot in detail te beheersen. Met een sterk gevoel voor ritme, verfijnde warme trompet sound, en muzikale invloeden uit de West Afrikaanse muziek weet hij het publiek te raken en mee te nemen naar verschillende soulvolle soundscapes.

Na een aantal succesvolle jaren als muzikant in Ghana arriveert Peter in Rotterdam. Al snel werkt hij samen met artiesten zoals Akwasi en Yung Nnelg en nam hij deel aan The Nest Residency! Met zijn composities, virtuose spel en stage performance heeft hij zelfs al een Erasmus Jazz award voor jong jazz talent weten te scoren! Op zijn debuut Outer Space zoekt Peter de grenzen van jazz, afro-funk en traditionele Ghanese muziek op. Dus trek je astronautenpak maar aan en be ready to go where no one has gone before!

Sanne Sanne - Amarte Studio Concerts

This concert is a hybrid studio-concert. This means it is a real concert with an analog audience & a - free to watch - livestream and recording session. In order to create a studio-concert feel, both the musicians, audience and camera crew will be mixed and distributed evenly throughout the room (at 1,5m distance of course). As a result of this, the audience will be visible on camera as well, and since it's also a recording session you will be provided with headphones - a unique and mesmerizing experience.

Sanne Sanne is the brand new project of Sanne Huijbregts (vocals and vibraphone) together with Roosmarijn Tuenter (vocals and viola), Pat Cleaver (bass and vocals) and Jeroen Batterink (drums). Singing, rhythm and layering are central, so that the story of each composition is told in a surprising and innovative way. Huijbregts: "In this unique line-up, my compositions blossom into gems, and even at this early stage I have a strong feeling that this is the band sound I've been looking for for a long time."

Na zijn succesvolle tournee met het werk van Leonard Cohen is Flip Noorman terug met een eigen avondvullende show.

Wederom bijgestaan door zijn bejubelde band ‘De Noormannen’ pakt Flip het meest uitgebuite thema in de kunst aan: de liefde.

In Love it schetst Noorman in eerste instantie een wereldbeeld van ‘love for sale’ perfectie. Maar vervolgens brengt hij juist een onversneden hommage aan het onvolmaakte.

En laten we eerlijk zijn: u verdient het toch? Een voorstelling met een lach en een traan, een rilling van ontroering. Een diepe stem waarin u uw zorgen even kunt vergeten. Gitaren als warme baden. Een wervelend theatraal concert dat bovendien uw huid strakker, gladder en egaler maakt.
Flip Noorman bood u nog nooit zoveel comfort en is dermatologisch getest en klinisch bewezen. U hoeft hem maar op te spuiten en mild-erotische fantasieën zullen als honing over u heen druipen.

tiigre - Amarte Studio Concerts

tiigre, international dream-pop band, is Marta Arpini (IT, voice, guitar), Linus Eppinger (DE, guitars), Mauro Cottone (IT, bass) and Robin van Rhijn (NL, drums). Born in 2018 and based in Amsterdam, tiigre developed an own idiom that conveys deep and sweet, soft and strong messages to the audience, with rock and indie wanderings, ethereal vocals, sophisticated harmonies and catchy melodies and grooves. tiigre released their first self produced single Paper Boat in June 2019 and toured Germany and Italy in the same year; they are now finalists of the Amsterdamse Popprijs 2021.
In 2021 tiigre recorded and produced their first EP together with 3x grammy nominee producer and sound engineer Attie Bauw. Their work will be out in spring 2022.

The Lasses & Janos Koolen - Amarte Studio Concerts

Even before they ever spoke they sang together, at a session in Irish pub Mulligans in Amsterdam. Now Sophie Janna and Margot Merah tour all around the world with their Scottish, Irish and American folk repertoire and intimate self-penned songs. The beautiful blend of their voices, unaffected style of singing and choice of songs makes them a sought after duo in the international folk scene. The past few years saw them tour the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Scotland, England, the United States, Canada and Japan. They presented their fourth album 'Undone' in a sold out Paradiso and the album was #1 in the Euro-Americana chart for several months. The Lasses are currently working on their fifth album, which will be their second album recorded with multi-instrumentalist and producer Janos Koolen. Accompanying themselves on bodhrán, tenor ukelele and guitar, the Lasses' great vocal harmony always takes the center stage.

After the debut album launch in 2017, her quintet has become a recognized and award winning ensemble that stretches the sonic envelope.
Sitting on the periphery of tradition while often dipping her toes into the avant-garde, Sun-Mi is set on delivering a highly personal second album.

The album itself is aiming to toy with the emotions of the listener, as if walking through life’s swings and roundabouts. The compositions reflect moments of Sun-m's past told in a present tense.
These moments are not told through the actions of what happened, but more the feelings that happened. Sun-Mi is quite open with the fact that moving to Europe was a struggle in many ways.
But also simply the greatest and most rewarding decision she ever made. This struggle colliding with the sheer elation of feeling welcome is reflected in the song writing.

A Self-Strewn Portrait has an air of premeditation around it. Although much of the music creation was left up to the moment, Sun-Mi etched a hypothetical line through everything that was recorded.
It was a clear aim from the beginning of the process that this album would sound like an album as a whole, as opposed to individual songs.

Glissandria e Soffiatore - een liefdestragedie van Eva Beunk & Robin Valster verteld het verhaal over een onverwachte vlam der liefde, de dualiteit van het hart en het onwennige van het onbekende.
Dit alles verhuld in een mini opera met in de hoofdrol Glissandria, de mooie sirene die samen met haar metgezellen een vredig leven leidt tot Soffiatore, een vreemde figuur, hun oase binnentreedt en alles veranderd...
Ieder deel uit Trilogy van Liucilė U. Vilimaitė presenteert zijn eigen emotie. Het eerste deel Lost in Time gaat over je verloren voelen. Het is een melancholisch stuk wat nostalgie oproept. Het tweede deel Funky Business gaat tijdens het concert in première. Hier staan de choreografie van de harpisten en de percussieve geluiden centraal. Het derde deel Fight/Flight/... heeft een compleet ander karakter. Het woord “overleven” staat hier centraal. Het deel is gespannen, chaotisch en het representeert de snelle groei en ontwikkelingen die we tegenwoordig meemaken in onze levens.
Postcard from heaven van John Cage is een compositie geschreven voor 1 tot 20 harpen. Het werk bestaat uit een verzameling van “raga’s” waar de harpisten vrij zijn hoeveel en in welke volgorde ze de raga’s spelen. De harpisten krijgen de opdracht het stuk te beginnen met een aanhoudende toon middels een strijkstok of alleen de haren. Dit creëert een zachte, aanhoudende toon die je zou kunnen doen denken aan een ‘Postcard from Heaven’. Raga is afkomstig uit de Indiase muziek. De raga is het raamwerk, een aantal vaste regels waarbinnen de muzikant improviseert.
Voor het laatste werk Aero van de Thaise componist Thanakarn Schofield worden de harpen omgestemd met kwarttonen. Thanakarn studeerde in Londen en Den Haag en maakte vorig jaar indruk bij de Young Composers Meeting in Apeldoorn. Het stuk is een soort “parodie” van de Japanse tuin, waarbij de zes harpen geluiden van het water, de wind door de bomen, de licht, en de mens representeren.
