Ahhh yes, it’s Sunday, the sun is out, birds are chirping, spring is about to arrive…. it’s a perfect day to start a new canvas.

I’m working on a couple of small canvases that are part of the Sacred Threads - winged messengers collection.

For a long while, I stayed in the graphite stage

In stillness
In observation
In the quiet mapping of what will be

When I’m sketching, I’m listening

Sometimes it takes me all my energy to shift into the next stage. I’m finally there now.

This is where colour enters and my work begins to breathe differently

Less contained
More alive

I’m ready for the magic to drop in now

I made myself a promise.

From now on, I will only build what feels true.
Only create what makes me feel alive.
Only say yes to work that has depth.

Sacred Threads was born from that decision.

Less noise.
More meaning.
More listening.

And yes — there was cake!

This drawing asked for slowness.
For presence.
For peace.

The sketching stage is where I listen — where the form reveals itself quietly.

Today I placed the pencil down and moved into the next stage.
Colour is where the illustration begins to breathe,
where it starts to live in the world.
