✨ From LaLaLand to Schalkwijk aan Zee! ✨

We’re proud that Bombay Noir will be performing at the free Schalkwijk aan Zee festival in Haarlem on Sunday, 6 September!

This Rotterdam-based band gives iconic Indian cinema music an irresistible new sound, blending jazz, swing, funk, soul and disco. Last year, Bombay Noir performed at LaLaLand Festival – one of their very first festival performances. Shortly afterwards, they even took the stage at North Sea Jazz!

This is exactly what LaLaLand stands for: giving new talent a stage and watching artists grow and shine ✨

And when you are an Indian classical music lover, join us on Sunday, September 27. We are hosting a very special house concert by Shri Abhisek Lahiri (sarod) and Partha Sarathi Mukherjee (tabla).

Shri Abhisek Lahiri is one of India’s leading sarod players, joined by renowned tabla player Partha Sarathi Mukherjee. Together they bring the rich tradition of North Indian classical music to life. As per the Indian classical tradition, the music is created in the moment, with Abhisek leading on sarod and Partha responding on tabla. Each performance becomes a unique musical conversation!

An intimate concert at Lalita’s home in Bloemendaal, with only 50 spots available. A unique opportunity to experience these two maestros up close.

India celebrates its 80th Independence Day 🇮🇳

Today, we celebrate the rich culture, history and diversity of this extraordinary country.

This year, LaLaLand once again brought a piece of India to the Netherlands. During LaLaLand on Tour, more than 20,000 visitors enjoyed Indian music, dance, stories and delicious food at the Amsterdam Roots Festival 💛

What an incredible day at festival! ❤️🇮🇳
We were so proud to curate the Indian programme and bring three amazing acts from India to the Oosterpark:

🎶 .dxa from Auroville with their mesmerizing blend of Dhrupad and electronic music.
💃 , who got the audience dancing along.
🎭 & Troupe, bringing the centuries-old Kathputli puppet theatre and soulful Qawwali music from Rajasthan.

This is exactly what LaLaLand is about: bringing people together through the colours, sounds and stories of India.
A heartfelt thank you to Amsterdam Roots Festival for welcoming LaLaLand On Tour, and to our partners IndiGo Airlines and the Embassy of India for making this journey possible.
